Hey what's up people... Just wondering who you guys think the best live DJ Duo is?

#370719Post 2 of 89

Nu-NRG gets my vote, but only based on what I've heard, not speaking from personal experience here. However, from what I hear, they put on an amazing liveset!! I really like what Filo and Peri have been doing lately, too... That whole NYSOM series is good stuff, definetly gonna check them out if I head to the east coast.

On a somewhat related note, Svenson and Gielen were putting out some quality tracks a few years ago.. Whatever happened to them? Seems that only Gielen is still somewhat in the limelight..

Re: BEST DJ DUO???

I think its the Incredible DEEP DISH The wonerfull boys from Iran Sharam Tayebi and Ali 'Dubfire' Shirazinia

They work miracle togehter behind the decks

Unfortunatly when A Deep Dish party was organised in Egypt only Sharam showed up.

Never the less the Guy was    WAAAAAAA

#370728Post 5 of 89

As far as deep dish goes, its really a one man team with the Dubfire carrying the load but if u mention duos, DEEP DISH is a must ... havent heard the other mentions but how can Sasha and Digweed be overlooked, not only a landmanrk duo but probably the best out there. I've really been feeling Astral and Glyde outside of them I remember Parks and Wilson were up there but i havent heard much of them of late ... tell me what yall think ....

#370736Post 6 of 89

LES, Matthew Dekay and the Proluctors, Kasey Taylor and Chris Meehan

#370799Post 13 of 89

I've enjoyed King Unique's sets lately. Especially that Sept 2004 promo mix.

Outside of house, you can't beat the Ninja Tune people, including Coldcut, DJ Food and Chocolate Weasel.
there is tyrant and then everyone else...
Wrong. There is Tyrant period.

#370923Post 27 of 89

^^^ today is wrong answer day. please let me tell you why:

 1. name: sasha & digweed = http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000005RDN/qid=1109789411/sr=1-22/ref=sr_1_22/102-8243724-0786526?v=glance&s=music

 2. Those two guys are the core foundation of duo. Two masterminds behind desks, sharing, and laying un-believable tracks down TOGETHER. Flawless mixing and tracks that take you beyond any unimaginable journey. They are the foundation of the class you speak of. There is no bigger duo in this world.

 3. Because I said so.
^^^ at least you go one right. 1/5 = 20% that is far below passing my friend. Grab a cd and study some more. hesh.
S&D were at least no. 1 on my list. They are by far my personal favorite. But the question is the best dj dou. Expand your music horizon. S&D are my favorite but that is not the only dj duo I listen to.

#370928Post 29 of 89

Re: BEST DJ DUO???

Depends on what you're talking about. If you're talking about the best DJ duo over the course of their entire careers then I would agree that S&D are the best. If you're talking about the best DJ duo TODAY or NOW then they're not even in the discussion...

dont get me wrong, that was more of a tongue in cheek statement, i was more curious than anything. the only dj-ing i thought any part of unkle was Lavelles "Amtrak Sets". cass n slide have always been top producers for me.
