Hey everyone I'm new and just wanted to introduce myself. I didn't see a section of the forum dedicated to new members so I posted in here. Anyways, I was linked over here from Global Underground's forum and I must say this is a pretty large and comprehensive site. I especially like the "help" section where you learn how to use a cue sheet, etc. That is really useful info (thanks!) as previously I didn't know how to use one. I'm still somewhat a newbie as you can tell. Well onto me. I'm 27 and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States although my girlfriend who is of Indian descent hails from London. I'm a programmer and I hate it, lol. My hobbies are mostly fast sports cars and Music. My weekend car is a 1993 Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo. Its completely stock with no modifications and comes in color Competition Yellow Mica which there were only 300 ever produced for the United States.

As for my music tastes I was first turned onto dance music back in 1997 and my first dance CD was Northern Exposures: Expeditions (Diggers and Sasha) and I haven't looked back since. Now I enjoy some breaks, prog breaks, ambient, B-sides, etc. Some of my all-time favorites are the Original Northern Exposure, Involver, Nick Warren Reykjavik and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming GU027 Danny Howells. Anyways, sorry for the long BS thread. If you got this far then thanks for reading and please enjoy this picture of my RX-7 :)

Re: Hey guys, new to the forum

Thanks everyone for the welcome wagon! :D

E, is Namaste a English thing? :)

TomTom, nice to see a fellow Rotorhead and from Germany to boot! If you aren't already a member, please check out www.rx8club.com for other fellow RX-8 enthusiasts. I've been a member over there for a little while but I lurk more than I post since I don't own a RX-8. Being in Germany must be fun with some of the more lax speeding laws on some of the designated highways. I couldn't fathom the fun!

I see we got some people from Hungary and Czech too which is very cool. Seems its quite diverse which is pretty cool.

AH! Thank ye for that insight. I will ask her about it when I get home and see if she recognizes that word or its intentional phrase.

nothing wrong with a long winded intro.. cheers for taking the time to intro yourself. welcome young poster!

#370513Post 16 of 24

i thought namaste meant "most welcome" ? i know its indian... but i guess the translation i heard was wrong :?

#370613Post 17 of 24

namaste - in the literal sense means "Greetings to your Soul" (some old sanskrit translation I presume) but in regular conversations, namaste is a very respectful way of saying hello (as in to an elder)

Nice intro sir.

Welcome to the one stop shop for all your interweb needs.

#370626Post 19 of 24

my bad. i thought it was for saying "goodbye/farewell"

#370746Post 20 of 24

You see: they manage to turn a welcome thread into a Yoga-jargon discussion thread. It's always like that here. Talk about some DJ's great latest mix, in the middle you're talking about farting dogs, and in the end you'll have a fierce ideological discussion about wether Michael Moore can see his willy or not (which I'm sure he can't).

Welcome

 A bit touchy feely for my taste. Hippy.

Welcome anyhow,

Welcome aboard and please be sure to buckle up...it's quite a bumpy ride! :Howdy:

LOL, I can see that but its like that with every forum you visit, except for one: The Miata forums. That forum is full of mature adults. I'm not a Miata owner but my girlfriend has a 2004 model so she frequents the forum and every now and again i'll glance over her shoulder to read some of the threads on that forum.

Having said that, in response to Yao about topics not staying on topic, if you think this place is bad, you should visit the off-topic section of www.supraforums.com. Its a site to discuss all generations of the Toyota Supra and the O-T section is chuck FULL of immature little kids. So the next time you think this place is bad, have a look over there and see how much worse it is on the other side of the fence

Wow, I just realized i frequent far too many car forums sigh Sorry.
