This is true. I saw it happen.. It happened here in Cairo, Egypt about 2 years ago. When a big party was organised and headlined by Sasha.

5000+ were expected..

A couple of hours before the party started, The goverment decided to ban it. (Only in Egypt) Sasha was already in his hotel room.

What's the organiser do?? A private party.

In a house. with 70 people. I was one them 8)

It was nice. I just felt sorry for the organiser who had lost A BIG AMOUNT of Cash..

But overall I had some Fuck'n fun

Later I heard that Sasha didnt take his money. I would beleive it coz he seemed like a very nice guy.

^^ Seeing how it was such a cozy event, you must be pretty close to the organizer. Is there anyway you can get us a recording of that show ?

Its just luckely being in the right place @ the right time.

I was one of those many people who were triying to get in the private party. But wasnt allowed. A person I know who is a friend of the organiser arrived @ the gate. So he took me in with him. :P

I happened to catch Sasha in Prague a few summer ago. Joel Einhorn, resident and part owner of the Roxy Praha, got him to play the second annual Zen Birthday Party. He played two nights, the first at the Roxy, and the second was on a boat that floated up and down the Vltava all night. There were only about 50 people on the boat that night. Guess who opened for him....yep...James Z! It was an incredible night. Sasha hung out with his girlfriend Zoe on deck most of the night, chatting with enthusiast. Fucking incredible. IF there is a recording of these sets anywhere, I would like to know. Ill post some pictures of this night in the near future.

Damn that would be awesome. To bad it would never happen in the states though.

a private party to attend with sasha on the decks, thats something really classi, not many people had that priviledge, i know i havent had :(

well, his last few sets from Toronto have been recorded, This I know for a fact straight from James Zabiela.

And I wasn't really stating it as a fact, but the signs are there that he at least records majority of his sets. I doubt he just records Toronto sets...it's not that special here ;)

Saw Sasha at a escape to the park a years back.

You coulkdn't get into the Hard House tent from 13.00, in the prog tent Sasha played to 200 people most of them sleeping in the back of the tent.

i once met sasha at space, in ibiza. first he looked kind of snobby but after some drinks he was cool... later that night he was reaaaally drunk... he played flawlessly. his ADD cd was coming out in a few weeks, i already had it though hehehe... i couldnt tell him what i thought of it, he would've pissed.

he's not dumb, I am sure he is was well aware that it was out and around... I was shocked by how NONsnobby he was in person, but I can be naughty or nice depending on where or when, so, it sounds logical to me... he was sober and therefore irritable, but then viola! Social lubrication!

Why were his Montreal and Budapest sets recorded then? Especially the MTL set, which is the full thing.

i said apparently...If I knew it was 100% true then I would've just said that he records all of his sets ;) Anyways...

...maybe he doesn't record every single one of his sets, especially since the guy plays about 3 times a week; but I'm pretty sure he records most of them. I heard that he records them and then after the party he'll play it over and "analyze" his set. Mind you, Sasha didn't actually tell me this himself so how accurate that is, is up in the air.

And I wish he would release some of them...I'm still waiting for the Sasha & James Zabiela B2B set that was recorded here back in October. It was supposed to be put up on Sasha's site in December... :roll:

I was there as well, was such a let down when they racked the party in the start, but later on when we went to the house party headlined by Sasha things were great, i actually spoke to him, but i remember fokall about that nite it was 2 yrs ago or something

its not bad 4 a big dj if sometimes play for 50 or 70 people i think

Hey .It really happened .Th GOV sux here in Egypt.a punch of assholes when it comes to the fucking routine.What a shame.but i Love Sasha so much .went to a prty for him in Crobar miami in 2004.It was great and he is really a very nice person.....peace out
