i've been listening to a lot of my old rock cds lately. and it got me thinking, what are 10 of the most influential non techno albums of the '90's for you? this was hard, but here goes mine...

in no certain order

1. alice in chains - jar of flies ( i went back and forth with this and unplugged )
2. blind melon - blind melon
3. blind melon - soup
4. temple of the dog
5. verve - urban hymns
6. nirvana - unplugged
7. candlebox- candlebox
8. smashing pumpkins- siamese dreams
9. portishead - live at roseland ball room
10. black box - wax trax records the first 13 years

the black box collection is really what started steering my towards techno

all of these with the exception of the black box really helped me through some pretty tough times in my life

:lol: I was really trying hard to post the albums that I personally loved, and not the albums that my friends might have liked but I didn't really connect with such as "alice in chains, tool, sonic youth, ministry, primus, portishead."

just way too many to list... i tried avoiding so many duplicates too just to be clever although i love about every album listed so far. :) i also tried listing and artist's initial albums that got me influenced into their music. any others they may have done i may have liked more than the one i originally heard, but you get what i mean. 311 - transistor has to be one of the best rock albums i've ever heard, but 311 - blue album was the one that got me hooked on them....

So we've done the albums, but what about the music videos. I think in the MTV generation (back when they use to only do music videos and Beavis & Butthead) was all about recording those cool videos on your VHS tapes during the wonderful era of the 90's.
