I'm not shocked, she seemed to have quite the drug and careless behavior regimen.

Rest in Peace

Oh No. :(

I hope she finds peace.

Re: Amy Winehouse dead...

I've honestly never listened to a thing she has done. But I have watched the reports on the news throughout the years. Such a shame!

Re: Amy Winehouse dead...

it's a shame. But she looked for it. she had the chance to break through her problem. Some people and children just die young because they have no fukin chance (hunger, illness, cold). So, RIP... but fuck you. I'm sorry if I got someone angry. Everybody is talking about her just because she was famous, I can understand that, but it's a shame that no one in her working team really cared about her.

Re: Amy Winehouse dead...

Can't say I'm surprised and thought her talents were very over-rated : in some ways another victim of the english press build them up, hound them, let them come crashing down approach.

.... but it is always sad to lose people at such an early age and distressing for the people they leave behind. A distinct warning for many on the dangers of booze & drugs.

Enjoy and live for the music people, do everything else in moderation.

not surprised... oh well, was wondering what had happened to her. now i know. RIP.

Re: Amy Winehouse dead...

There was a very doomed/Kurt Cobainish vibe to her, especially in the last few years to her life. I don't think this really comes as a surprise to many, with the exception of those that were closest to her.

Hearing Mark Ronson say in a couple of interviews how he couldn't get anything useful out of her in the recording studio had me hoping that she'd turn things around. Heard rumors that she had been offered some really great opportunities like being asked to see if she could record a James Bond theme song, but the behavior, the drugs and all the demons she carried with her ruined each one that came her way.

It's a shame. She was enormously talented and had a gorgeous voice. Back In Black was and is still a favorite in my cd collection.

RIP - hope she finds it there.

#1527515Post 19 of 46

Re: Amy Winehouse dead...

correction: Back To Black - got AC/DC on the mind today.
Morrison, Joplin, Hendrix, Cobain....Winehouse? uh...somebody doesn't belong in that sentence.
It's a list of musicians that died at age 27. And even though I agree she doesn't exactly belong in that list, her name is still internationally recognized for her talent, which is increasingly rare in todays world. I think if she hadn't been a drug addict she would still be easily recognized internationally for her talent.
