Jamie Jones has mixed the next Fabric installment, due out in September.

Co-head of the Hot Creations label along with Lee Foss, Jones has seen his stock rise considerably over the past few years, garnering him the #6 slot in the RA DJ poll last year. That's largely down to the pop-inflected house that Jones has begun to peddle more regularly. Fans can expect a large dose of that on Fabric 59, which sees Jones teaming with Foss as Hot Natured on two tracks and plenty of edits from Jones himself as well. Felix Da Housecat, Crazy P and Oppenheimer Analysis all feature as well, the latter of which no doubt adds an old school flavor to the mix.

Tracklist

 1. Hot Natured feat. Ali Love & Kenny Glasgow - Time Intro
 2. Sebastien Tellier - La Ritournelle (Metronomy Mix)
 3. James Teej - Don't Appear (Redux)
 4. Coat Of Arms - Is This Something (Jones Fly Edit)
 5. White Lions - DePalma
 6. Karen Pollack - You Can't Touch Me (Murk Remix - Jones Fly Edit)
 7. Cajmere feat. Jamie Principle - God Sent ('10)
 8. Felix Da Housecat - Madame Hollywood
 9. Waifs & Strays - Body Shiver
 10. jennygoesdirty - Amoureux Solitaires
 11. Hot Natured feat. Ali Love & Kenny Glasgow - Assimilation
 12. Crazy P - Open For Service
 13. Panthers - Goblin City (Holy Ghost Mix)
 14. Oppenheimer Analysis - The Devil's Dancers
 15. Jamie Jones - The Lows
 16. soho808 - Get Up Disco
 17. Footprintz - Fear Of Numbers

Fabric will release Fabric 59 on September 12th, 2011.

Found his RA very underwhelming ... but will see what the postman brings.

Although not too impressed with some of the pop/nu-disco electonic music that people are saying is cool and this new thing.

Re: Jamie Jones mixes Fabric 59

when bender420 and I went to the urban artforms festival there was an act listed as "Felix the Houserat". No idea if it was a misspelling or a different guy because i didnt care enough to actually go and see, but it was on every flyer

Re: Jamie Jones mixes Fabric 59

There will be tons more of it as the clones come out of the woodwork. Lots of DJ's dressed ironically with moustaches, wearing oversized glasses and playing re-edits of random drops of cheesy naff pop tunes that don't fit together off their laptops.

woo-hoo

Re: Jamie Jones mixes Fabric 59

Jamie Jones has become a household name and created an accessible brand for a new generation of dance music fans with his Hot Natured guise and Hot Creations label. His fabric compilation episode comes as he rides the crest of a tidal wave of popularity for him and his Crosstown Rebels and Visionquest crew that are forming a new cluster of stars. It's a great honour to have Jamie join our CD series with the impeccable fabric59..

As you may be aware we have had to put back the CD release to next Monday, 22nd August. This is because we lost most of the stock in the Sony/PIAS warehouse fire last week & we’ve had to work very hard to make sure Jamie’s CD will be ready to go on the shelves next week.

All's not lost because you can still get your hands on the digital copy before then, just follow the links below:

Amazon: http://amzn.to/p20PHp fabric: http://bit.ly/rqHOHP Digital – Junodownload: http://bit.ly/n14g8K

As if that wasnt enough, we've been losing our minds watching the new promo video. Get ready to morph into fabric59..

http://vimeo.com/27627287

Jamie will be back in Room One September 24th. See you on the dancefloor

x

Actually this whole wave of music coming out of the Visionquest/Crosstown Rebels/Hot Natured triad is completely f***ing boring to me, this whole ´underground pop´ sound, as Seth Troxler called it. It is, in fact, nothimg more than moaning, melancholic dance pop musivc to me, and Seth Troxler is becoming to this sound what Richie was for the ´Minus sound´.

I lean more to the techno side, that´s true, but listen to a lot of house music when I go out, and give me something like Kassem Mosse´s or DJ Qu´s recent RA mixes, or some guy like John Osborn, over this pop crap, anytime.

New thing??? really??? where the hell have you been in the past 4 years ?

Whats really funny is that many of the djs that are praised on this board ... play the stuff that producers from crosstown rebels/visioquest/hot natured/ wolf and lamb etc release . What's even more funny is that these same pop/nudisco artists are invited to radio shows or podcasts of these so called "huge" djs.

I hope that someday Lazarus , Dinky , Curtiss, or crosson gives bedrock a chance :p

Wind your neck in a bit mate ;)

Have you ever thought that the DJ's praised use the tracks a lot more effectively and coherently to build a proper set ?

For many the alchemy of DJ'ing is the blend of the tracks and where you sequence them ? Seems to be that this is becoming a lost art with the so called newer breed.

As for Lazarus (hardly a new name ?), decent DJ & great label, but his fabric has a very limp and underwhelming finish, which was a big shame as what went before was pretty good.

Will give the CD a play in the am as its sat there for a few days ... first few tracks sounded ok.

From RA

Hot Waves

The name on everyone's lips in Ibiza this year, though? Jamie Jones. In 2011, he's added gigs at Cocoon and Kehakuma to his burgeoning Circoloco residency at DC-10. Earlier this month, he stole the show at Sasha's Never Say Never party at Ushuaia and then returned the next day to outshine the generally commercial dross surrounding him at the Radio 1 live event—again at Ushuaia. He's a regular at villa parties and afterparties too. Basically, everyone wants a piece of him. I've rarely seen an artist on the underground scene have photos requested so often.

More than anything, his music is the sound of the island—his own productions, his remixes, the artists he's supporting through his record labels. Whether it be the crossover tracks like "Forward Motion," his remix of "Hungry for the Power" or even just the whole Hot Creations back catalogue, it's undeniable at the moment. While it might not be a surprise to many—especially given Jones' long history on the island—it does represent a significant move forward for an artist from a new generation. This can only be a good thing, as there hasn't been a breakthrough like this since Luciano and Loco Dice a few years ago.

Crosstown Rebels has put out some quality dance music recently. Get Lost @ WMC was off the chain.

I very much like this kind of Jamie Jones : http://youtu.be/EXP6eqPDhSE

But I just put on the recent transitions guest mix of his... WTF is that? I'm going to his show in San Francisco on Thursday night. If he plays anything like that I'm going to slit my wrists on the dancefloor.

Re: Jamie Jones mixes Fabric 59

tbh crosstown rebels did put out some good new releases, i thought these and the visionquest guys is a good new taste but unfortunately completely went down, seth was soo good in the 08,09s an he's still ok but couldnt really deal with the jamie jones stuff, theres so much good music out there rite now and very little time so rather stick to what i understand even if i'll have to keep digging oldies.....the visionquest transitions was real good tho...

Re: Jamie Jones mixes Fabric 59

Lawrence is imense. Loved him for years.

Also, you peeps should have seen Kassem Mosse´s live stream from Boiler Room TV yesterday. I repeat, that guy is doing to me what Seth Troxler did about 2/3 years ago. Hypnotic deep house at it´s best, without getting all moaning, emo and whiny like these dudes.

it should be up at Boiler Room´s site in about a week, video included.

It could go either way simon , some djs like sasha have also ruined tracks for me by playing them at incredible high bpms. anyhow we are not talking about djing skills here, we are talking about a scene, edm subgenre or music that many people here despise even though lately their fav djs are prone to give them a space.

But since you went there ... yes blending and programing are important elements but above all is always going be the actual music that is being played that stands out the most and what atmosphere it creates at a party.

I wouldn't measure Lazarus by just one recent compilation but more for what he has done and continues to do on so many aspects of the electronic dance music scene . One of those aspects being the creator of the GET LOST parties where in my personal opinion are the best parties you can possibly attend to atm. Filled with great music( mostly from artists of Crosstown rebels) , cool people and amazing vibes... never have I seen so many smiling faces on a dance floor than when I attended GET LOST.

I dont think he will play this way( transitions mix) at vessel , this is a typical jamie jones disco set, which he always announces beforehand just to avoid getting people pissed off .... lol anyhow I hope he does drop this track on thursday . ;)

The man rules. Really unusual sound, so when you listen to a mix of his, you usually take like 10 minutes to fall into a groove, but once you do... it really takes you places. And this is coming from someone who, as you know, is a lot more into techno than into house.

It was funny watching that live stream full of dubstep/electro/bass kiddies : in the beginning they were all "when does the bass drop??? WTF I can´t dance to this?? Why is this intro so long?" and etc., 20 minutes later they were going "oh man if I was at that club right now I would be losing my shit!" and "I have to see this guy next time he comes to my town". Really funny watching people´s opinions slowly changing 8)
