I went to hear Digweed at Centro-fly about 3 times from late 02 through 03.... I remember one on my birthday weekend, ( i am the 5th of July )

I had a fuckin blast, and remember closing him out I guess it was ?July 3rd night? and stumbling into morning (not a usual centro-fly thing )

I wonder if any other MS kids had any fun there?

^^ who was the bouncer outside the DJ Booth at that time ? I vividly remember meeting him and when I said hi I'm Kamal - he looks at me and goes.... "oh hi encryption"..... and I didn't see him after that... is he a member here on MS ?

I believe he usually did there... I loved it when it was all black and white there, and then they totally fucked the place.... I heard Layo and Bushwacka there once and it was all changed and confusing and done up like a Jungle for bridge and tunnel quidos and their dates. That was superfun.

Diggers was playing this beautiful male vocal that was hard to understand at all back in those days, but it went into old skool NE eastcoast edition style and I heard him play it a few times... Never found it.... Wonderful memories though.

i meant he usually played with LES

Oh hell yeah! great night into morning. Was definitely the night of July 3rd and I remember meeting Kamal right after outside in the beautiful morning-after sunshine. 8)

LES did open and as always, both LES and Diggers rocked!

My friends bailed due to their can't stay in the kitchen attitudes. I remember being SOOOOO trashed on my walk home in the sun with no sunglasses... and then having to go to mum's for birthday dinner... The music distracted me plenty (good) from my hangover as diggers is wel capable and in a smaller space it was nice and intimate.

#365298Post 9 of 29

Duh, I just remembered.... in march or april 2003 I heard I wish you were here for the first time that night, and then it was on the KiSS set... That night was retarded Amazing...

Like " I am Sam's Dakota Fanning is worth the price of admission alone!"

If you haven't seen DRAWN TOGETHER please let me know. If you like SICK humor and cartoons. I think this is the sickest.... that made it to air perhaps.. ? :)

Re: Houston, we have a question! Diggers @ Centro-fly

I was there 11/02, 3/03, & 7/03. I even went to the Hamptons to catch him on 7/4. Those were some great times. I think that's what's missing in NYC these days. You either have lounges or Superclubs... There aren't any midsize (800-1000) clubs like Arc / Vinyl, & Centro anymore...

You don't bring me flowers....... anymore.....................

Re: Houston, we have a question! Diggers @ Centro-fly

i have only seen him once at centro-fly...

it was a wed, and myself and a friend decided that monday to go. i was still in school and had no way to get there, or a place to stay. so we took a bus from providence around 6:15 on wed and just planned on getting there, and then figuring it out. i was 21 and first time in NYC to see a DJ. sean cusick warmed up and then diggers came on and started with porters amber remix...and finishing with clocks(cosmos mix) and momu track on bedrock ...think it ended at around 4:00?? so we had to find something to do untill the busses stared running at 7:00. after some radom doughnut shops and failed attepts to sleep on the floor at the bus station a brutal 4 hour trip home....great memories

-e- i think it was I am trying to remember if that was the night the diggz was also very late...Ben help us out

#365719Post 23 of 29

^^ yes I think you're right, diggz was late that night, he was supposed to come on at 1:00 and he actually showed up at 1:30

-e-

#365794Post 24 of 29

Yeah he was late. We actually had a longer set from Jimmy than Diggers. The (alleged) reason that he was late was that he had a ear infection and could fly due to atmospheric pressure.

#365820Post 25 of 29

^^ OH fuck you're right, that was the reason...... he actually had a train ride from Minnappolis if I remember correctly

thats right...he actually got on the mic and said to crowd "Ive been a train while taking antibiotics for 35 hours just to be here, we're gonna have a great night" or something to that effect...then the bassline from Lexicon Avenue's mix of DM kicked in and the place went apeshit!

what a wonderful night...those Digweed at Centro jams were always the best times...

with the exception of the july set, i was disappointed with the other two sets he did there. one being the nov set and the other being the march set a day or two after the conference. cusick opened up for him on that one and i got there just as he was ending his opening set. way too up and down both those nights for me.

peas.
