Sasha is great, digweed is great, they are like the orgasams at the end of a good night, can't get enough of them.

Pisses me off Sasha goes for a while and does good and then does coke and well the rest is history.

Digweed is pissing me off right now cause I am "tuning in" and miss the old school speaker pounding badass he was, now I got this kiss 100 show with a fucking commercial in it...

But yeah Sasha on the 25th should be spectacular.

Re: FALL OF DIGWEED/RISE OF SASHA

I never judge who's better between the two. It's like apples to oranges...

To me, they're the benchmark to where things are set....everything else is a pursuit to that level.

#362522Post 11 of 55

my cat's name is mittens

#362529Post 12 of 55

who fuckin cares....there's a new breed of dj's, let them show you the way to the light. Sasha and Diggers' time has come.

#362530Post 13 of 55

OK, first off... Digweed might just be in a creative transition, which usually leads to a breakthrough/surprise and if he was ON all the time, we wouldn't know or appreciate it as much...

That being said, I was at Crobar for Sasha, and it was retarded good. Like (I hate saying one of the best nights ever, but I did and still do) one of those moments (many of them) where you hear not just a new track, but a style, genre, vibe, a new kind of spinechill or goosebump perhaps.

Also, on both the boy's behalfs... I bumped into Sasha at Cielo (you know how that happens, lol) and while we were forced outside to smoke as we do here in NYC, he did enthusiastically express how he felt that it was one of his best sets and that he hasnt had a night in New York like that since way back. I tried to remember for him, but we both laughed about Twilo memories being a little fuzzy at times.

Anyway, Sasha is definitely on a new road as an artist, and I think its wonderful that he is trying something completely different for all the right reasons. If anyone wants to bitch about spinning with a computer being a lazy or non-creative method or a crutch please feel free to contact me directly or on the board so that I can show you how to stop talking out yer arse... I'm really jazzed about seeing what is down the road for both Sasha and Dj's in general due to "changes" in acceptable formats and approaches.

Simply said... It's electronic music, how can you diss someone using a computer for it? Right?

#362533Post 14 of 55

I still mix with two 8-tracks.

Re: FALL OF DIGWEED/RISE OF SASHA

dividing the masses.. i would imagine after digweed reads this, he wont be inviting his buddy sasher for the late nite guest mix.

#362543Post 16 of 55

I'll let you knowafter they get back from the conference and throw down at crobar April 1st. THEN, we can talk all we want about it.

diggers dont get the NYC all niter alot. he should come back as a resident i say. even if it aint with sasha

Bro! It's been nothing but electro garbage ever since, trust me I saw him 4 times after you saw him and it was NOTHING like his earlier sane sets. :( I won't even go see him at the Mayan when he comes next month. I'll just see him for old times sake when I go to Ibiza this summer.

I bet Digweed's dad could kick Sasha's dad's ass!

#362736Post 22 of 55

Well I was at Sasha at Crobar early this month. I must say Sasha didn't floor me. He was definetly better than the showing he had at the Roxy a year ago but he was nowhere near the Twilo days. Maybe this is a step in the right direction.......

As for Diggers I saw him there in August and thought he was a bit off after seeing him earlier at the confernece ....then with Sasha @ Crobar. But i had a great time and the vibe was great.

Give me Digweed on a bad day over 99.9% dj's on a good one

One week Sasha's 'the don'. Then next week Diggers 'the don'

We all know its Sasha  (Chem made me say it)

#362880Post 28 of 55

Cause I'm so sure that should we one day be chatting it up with either of them, and we just let them know we had a vote and it's pretty clear that the other guy sucks, that's totally gonna go down really well.

I bet it's been a competition this entire time, and neither one has any artistic respect for the other at all.

Quick, who can get every thread that ever touched on this topic and submit it as evidence?

Also, lets negate everything amazing somebody else has done in their lives up to now and brush them aside as a has-been due to their decline in popular opinion, or you know...cause they'll just never pull in #'s like tiesto. Is everybody down with that? Who should we pick? Make sure it's someone you have just loved up until very recently... ok?

Good lord my workplace sarcasm manifests itself strangely now that I am working from home. It's all for a good cause though... Lets do our part in helping both of our boys rock-on, put on our dancing shoes, and get jiggy with it! Umkay?

Now go dance!

#362943Post 29 of 55

I don't think the original post was meant to be that serious

#362954Post 30 of 55

hence the self-commentary to lighten the tone... it was sarcasm pointing out the absurdity of what was being discussed to perhaps recognize and move on from.

I made a funny to try and get everybody to get along.

I only have one thing to say. A Digweed vs. Sasha thread comes up quite frequently around here, and one of them always wins. nuff said

That is the best way to ever compare the two. You cant compare them!

#363125Post 37 of 55

What is intriguing to think about is the fact that this "vote" didn't take into consideration the fact that maybe 10% of those voting were even at the parties being discussed, let alone have they heard either of the two on a phazon sound sytem (crobar and fabric) or even the actual sets recorded, encoded, compressed, and then played on a home system.

I have no idea what diggers set was like or the atmosphere it created, but Sasha's set will never be replicated except on the crobar system. The set was tweaked and tailored to maximize the power and versatility, not to mention the bass of that space and system. It was tweaked and tailored quite amazingly... ask anyone how intense and powerful yet crisp the entire night was... I heard new bassline techniques and distinctive textures and deep VERY LOW frequency vibrations like I have never experienced before... and I've been around the block once or twice... literally... at twilo.

i guess my point is moot given the current political climate in this country, considering the fact that the middle of the country voted for bush out of fear, and I (we) here in NYC, who lived through and in the middle of 9/11 voted 18% for W... I guess that backs up my point at the samee time...

The president is a moron, hick, egomaniacal mass murderer with the dangerous inability to admit to being anything less than perfect...

Oh fuck it, Sasha and Digweed both do it, they're magicians... as for a lull in intensity and novelty of new and surprising technique and style.... I do recall EDM SUCKING ASS for a few years... 2002 - 2003... House and trance and progressive all got way too blurry and we got overfed with generic music that didn't challenge itself creatively or take bold chances.... so generally the excitement that we all love and get out of the music was lacking in passion and the intensity that make it what it is.

Lets get to the bottom of where it has come from that point and try and pinpoint what is back or is new that just "DOES IT" again. Or not... you know... whichever

god I love involver... anyone else here get all emotional with Smile by the Youngsters?

to meeeeeeeeeee..... to meeeeeeeeee... to meeeeeeeeeeee....

Yes I am retarded, and I am aware of that :) ok?
