There's a lot of shit going down with work right now, and today's going to be pretty stressful. Basically, today is the day everyone in my department finds out if we have jobs or not since our company was recently bought. If we find out that we don't have jobs, the three of us were talking about just turning this into a 22-day paid vacation instead of doing the work that needs to be done... we're all worried, both here and back in Kansas City.

Damn dude....I wish you the best of luck. I've been in situations like that before and it sucks.

quick update.

shit just hit the fan. out of 9 employees in my department, 6 were just notified of their last employment date. Luckily, I'm one of the 3 people that will be keeping our jobs, but we will be restructured to new management with new job titles/positions. I will be reporting to my manager's manager's boss soon, but who knows what I'll be doing. At least I'm I have my foot in the door of the new company... something like that.

They called one guy up who was on vacation in Hawaii. Another is the leader of our team here in Europe... and he suddenly doesn't feel like busting any 12 hour days. Means more 16 hour days for me the next 3 weeks, I guess.
