but why do we need 20 threads about steve, and the top 100 people all with avatars or signatures about steve? I can't read one thread on ms without being reminded multiple times of this... we all miss him, but can we please all agree that we don't need to make this place any more depressing than it already is? Please, no more new threads about missing him, no more signatures about him, and no more putting his picture in every thread. It's very frustrating to become instantly depressed every time I come here... it's making me and dozens of others not want to come on here until it goes away.

i dont think youre a dick, its just everyone mourns in a different way so its hard to say to someone not to express his/hers feelings if that makes them feel a bit better or closer to jibs

Pickle. I agree with you that it is very depressing, and I respect your opinion.. I think the same amount of respect should be shown to those wanting to use those avatars...Agreed, there is no need to make a million thread about the issue, but if people choose to make signatures, and use that avatar, it should be respected. People grieve in different ways.

I don't think you are a dick, I think you are dealing with this in your way, but you have to let us deal with it our way, just about nothing that anyone says or does now is wrong, we are all responding in the ways that we know. It just takes time . My time will be when I want to remove the avatar.

Adam I totally see where you are coming from and I understand how you feel. Its definitely hard to come on here and see his pictures and listen to his sets, etc. but at the same time, its the only place I can grieve about his passing and have people understand.

When other people around me ask why I am sad and I tell them they don't understand....they ask how can I be so sad after meeting someone only once and the rest of the time talking to him on MSN every single day....the only people that understand are the people here on this board.

I think you need to let us grieve how we choose to grieve....as others have said, everyone grieves in their own way and we need to allow people to do this, especially in these circumstances....its not healthy for people to bottle things up inside as we now no all to well :(

I just have to say-as a member who's "moderately" active on this board. I was saddened to hear about this news and I absolutely have seen Jib's threads and comments for years-so I know it's a huge loss for the forum. SInce his passing, I've seen pictures and avatars and signatures and everything.....

While an argument has been made for "everyone to deal with this in their own way" I have to say that perhaps the best way to deal with that is to create another division of this board to deal with threads/thoughts/discussions about this matter....

At the end of the day-this is a dance music forum and there are loads of people who come here to be a part of a community of people who share the same love. If there are some new people, or even some seasoned members, who are looking to feel like a part of a community(one in which Steve himself valued tremendously), it can instantly alienate people and be a reason to steer clear. With all the bad news these days, job losses, war etc people often indulge in some time wasting here in order to escape from all this. It's a bit tough to check out some new music and friends and be confronted by SUICIDE everywhere.....

Very sensible but a lot aren't feeling very sensible at the moment. It will inevitably spill over. I really tthink we should let this outpouring run it's course.

Alternatively maybe we can set up a sub forum so everyone has a choice to visit it to do what they do ... so GYY and the rest of the forum can go on, those who grieve has a place to do so, etc ...

Cos honestly there's no point telling people to stop it, we all have to do what we do, you can't turn the grieving process into an amputated stump, that just even more fucked up. I shouldn't even be this affected but I strangely am and I'm at a constant loss in here, typing up posts only to delete them.

it happened saturday. most people here didnt find out until monday or tuesday. it only being thursday now, i think what is going on is perfectly appropriate.

we can create a subforum if this is still a concern for people...but no need to get ahead of ourselves. expecting all the steve threads to go away in two days is a bit much. things will return to normal...just give people time.

same exact thought i had. at some point the crew can create a seperate sub forum purely dedicated to steve given his passion for ms....but geessh...u all can put up with a few extra threads for steve until everyone has a chance to get level headed again.
