Get Diverted host a party to celebrate the influential label Junior Boys Own. Legendary Chicago DJ Tyree Cooper headlines.

Boys Own, Junior Boys Own, Junior London, JBO or Junior, the popular house music label initially started out in the very late 1980's simply as 'Boys Own' - an irreverent 'footy' magazine set up by Andrew Weatherall, Terry Farely & Steve Amyes (1986) - based upon the idea of the original 'Boys Own' papers issued between the 1870's to the 1960's. the fanzine mainly featured jokes, stuff, football no-nosense and lads fashion and club news

Around 1989 Weatherall started working as a DJ at London club Schoom and was asked to remix - Primal Scream's seminal club classic 'Loaded'. at the same time Terry Farley was remixing The Farm's hits including 'Steppin Stone' - both won them great notoriety, and both productions were credited to 'Boys Own'. It was this initial success and the backing of London records that 'Boys Own Records' was set up in august 1990. The first release was 'Bocca Juniors' - Weatherall and Farley's group - raise (63 steps to heaven) (keeping the faith with football - Bocca Juniors are an Argentinian football team) - the Thrashing Doves sampling piano anthem was an instant club and early Ibiza anthem.

The label was and is still managed by Steve Hall, and had several 'club' & DJ names - Peter Heller,,Darren Emerson & Rocky & Diesel (X-press 2) all involved. They had many of the major dance acts signed to the label including Underworld, X-press 2 & the Dust (Chemical) brothers. Sadly and perhaps because he had different projects to pursue Weatherall 'fucked off first...' - according to Steve Hall, and set up his own band and label Sabres of Paradise. This had little effect on the label however, who have gone from strength to strength and have produced off- shoots in various guises for various projects, Appalooso, Collect, Fuju.

Boys Own no longer exists as the name of the label as such (perhaps due to the confusion with the Irish boy band Boyzone - (with whom the trendy club label would want to entirely distance themselves) - now operating under the name Junior (London) and also still using JBO (Junior Boys Own) as a logo on more commercial releases the Boys Own team are still banging out the house & club anthems with a new breed of artists the label are distributed in the 'rest of the world' by v2 - Virgin's trendier dance music based sister label - this has undoubtedly improved the marketability of bands such as Underworld in places like Japan and America.

Get Diverted will be kicking things off on the terrace with their residents and Tim Sheridan, with Junior Boys Own taking over the club room with Special Guest Tyree Cooper. Brixton Boys Le Piscine will be rocking the Boudoir
