[B]Reopening September 10th 2011[/B]
More than thirty years after [B]first opening back in 1979,[/B] [B]legendary Leeds music venue The Warehouse returns with an astonishing new look, sound and feel.[/B] This is the place that started it all, opening up even before the Hacienda. From the late 70’s, The Warehouse introduced a whole new culture and became the epicentre of music and clubbing in the North of England.
Having played host to some memorable bands and DJ’s over the years with everyone from Frankie Goes to Hollywood to Sugar Hill Gang, Oasis to The Stone Roses, [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=5"]Sasha[/url], [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=160"]Greg Wilson[/url], LFO and Mike Pickering. Whilst nights like [B]SpeedQueen and Kaos[/B] will forever been treasured memories in the hearts of those lucky enough to go, it’s only right the club has been taken over and returned it to its former glory.
Of course, high on the agenda for the new owners has been the technology behind the light and sound systems to provide a venue that is simply untouchable in Leeds. [B]Brand new Funktion One Dance Stacks tower[/B] above the dancefloor as well [B]mind blowing lighting rigs,[/B] [B]colour lasers and CO2 jets.[/B] Elsewhere, the venue has been remodelled throughout with [B]a new layout, new chillout areas featuring leather lounge beds, state of the art DJ equipment, new dance levels, new bars, new toilets and new air conditioning. [/B]Upstairs in the Loft the [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=472"]walls[/url] have been blasted back to expose the brick and huge wooden beams, fireplaces and sash windows have been revealed to create a sumptuous second room.
Heading back underground, The Warehouse is hosting a number of regular nights alongside huge one-off specials, with the [B]world’s finest DJs and live acts from house, electro, techno, dubstep and DnB,[/B] all playing on a regular basis. Established local brands like [B]House & techno party Filth[/B] to huge [B]London dubstep night Spectrum[/B] join new nights [B]Sequence and Coloursound,[/B] [B]unhinged yahoos Ketoloco[/B] and labels including [B]Cadenza & Hypercolour[/B] will all pass through the doors to the delight of clubbers looking for a party atmosphere second to none. After a five year break from the clubbing scene, the original outlandish, weird and wonderful [B]SpeedQueen is also back onboard, bringing with it desires and delights![/B]
[B]Whilst history isn’t everything, it gives The Warehouse an enviable footing from which to kickstart its new direction… along with its 8am license, 7 days a week there is no doubt that this is something special.[/B]
