Tired of the same-old same-old in the North of England when it comes to nocturnal gatherings? Well we were, so we started Coloursound. It’s big and bold, is already teamed up with big-wigs like Cadenza and [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=543"]We Love[/url] and all kicks off in September. With a fine mixture of the big names you love and the ruder underground talents of tomorrow from the worlds of house, techno, drum and bass, disco, electro and live music, each party will offer a minimum four or five top names for your listening pleasure. Throughout the first season, whether you like 90s rave style warehouses, cosier basement vibes or something in between, Coloursound has it covered.
The clever concept of the night is to host a number of parties in venues like The Warehouse, Soundcontrol, Wire, Nation of Shopkeepers, Joshua Brooks as well as bespoke places like tunnels, warehouses and other spaces around the north of England, with event capacities ranging from cosy at 200 to vast at 4000. The season will end with a huge 4,000 capacity four room event at Stylus in Leeds in December.
The idea surfaced a year ago, with the last few months seeing the final touches being put to plans for the end of 2011. A programme of 7-10 events is in place between Oct and Dec of this year, with a second season for January to April 2012 (already all but signed and sealed) before expanding to 15 events in season 3. DJs appearing will include the likes of Trentemoller, DJ Fresh, Kenny Dope, [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=847"]Kevin Saunderson[/url], [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1207"]Lee Foss[/url], [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1059"]Heidi[/url], Mayaan Nidaam, Maceo Plex, Stacy Pullen, Round Table Knights, [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1651"]A Guy Called Gerald[/url], Tom Trago, Levon Vincent, [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=689"]Tiefschwarz[/url], [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=260"]Reboot[/url] and many more.
