I defo wont pay $500 for it when I paid only $750 for my SLR and you could get the Nikon SLRs for $600

it is a good camera but when you can pay 300 more and get a rebel xti ... kinda a no brainer. if the G7 was priced around 350 or less. would be a steal of a deal. but it has the digic III. once a SLR comes out with that ... it is mine. ... waits.

the difference is the G7 is one unit and ready to go. no need to buy too many accessories as you do with a slr.

G7 is a dead end camera. no upgrades.

exactly what I meant from my previous post. what you buy is what you get. with the slr, you need to get different lenses, flash, etc etc. ;)

I wish I had taken the Powershot 620 or 630....my 540 is nive, but those puppies are the best you can do when you don't want to take the trouble of buying a DSLR imo...

Yeah, I got my Digital Rebel from ebay for $500 with the basic lens pack. Theres no reason to downgrade for slightly less.
By the way: I love my camera!
