Nice. Works really well as low resolution. A lot of noise at higher resolution but would probably print okay.

No I don't think it will print too well. It might, but there will be some apparent pixelation.

I haven't been to many, but they say that the one in Monterey is one of the best in the country.. I've been 3-4 times, its amazing every time :)

I was really surprised at the shallow depth of field as well. I got the phone.. for a phone, but it turned out to be a great small camera, i don't even carry a point and shoot. The xenon flash performance is acceptable as well:

It prints very well.. at least for my needs. I have a Canon mp620 photo printer, and it works fine. I actually made a whole album for a present couple of months ago, no body even suspected that the prints are from a phone. All the pics from the first post are the original files, you can save one and try printing. I have one stuck on my fridge :)

The video recording was another surprise.. stereo sound, 720p, strong zoom.. here I was chasing some bees, you can see the zoom in action towards the end

Overall, I think phones will be able to replace our every day photography needs soon. The Nokia N8 quietly created a new category .. a proper smartphone, that can take good photos. I've had it for over a year..

The new iphone 4s seems to have a very strong sensor/optics combo as well..

Amazon sells it [URL]http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-Touchscreen-Featuring-Navigation-Camera--U-S/dp/B003ZX7RNC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1322156414&sr=8-2[/URL], or you can find even cheaper on ebay ... however it only works on ATT and T-Mobile, its actually the only phone that can use the 3G bands of both carriers, it has a 5 band tuner. Usually most of the media in the US has a very negative view of the operating system on it, which is Symbian, but it works fine, they've pushed out several big updates and it does everything all the other smartphones do. Another big one is coming in the next couple of months, called Symbian Belle

I've found printing normally removes some noise. I think it'll look okay.

And ya.. the N8 was pretty good, and the 808 is another step forward in terms if quality.. no need for p&s for me, smartphone+DSLR covers everything, at least for my needs.

^another great pic, the colors are amazing. I was in San Fran earlier this year... I'll be in LA in Oct. I don't know when I'll be back in Northern Cal though... my wife and I agree it's just too cold up there :lol:. Beautiful place though. I remember the last time I was in Santa Cruz (her family lives in Scotts Valley, you can see monterey from their house on clear day), we went downtown and had dinner at some hawaiian themed restaurant... it was a cool little spot.

:HolyFuck: WOOOW, I really need to make that drive from Big Sur. I've seen some beautiful views in Cali but that one is ridiculous... I flew into Monterey from San Fran in a small plane during sunrise once right over pebble beach. it was the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. I'm 1 month away from seeing friends I haven't seen in years in LA, I can hardly wait. These photos are incredible again, the colors are really great. Where did you live in FL, for how long?
