Good article about how hopefully Google can help drive the costs of bandwith down and the speeds up. I'd kill to have this where I live.

I'm in Kansas City, Missouri. I'm only ~10 miles from the Kansas side. I'm crossing fingers that they do "Kansas City" and not "Kansas City, Kansas"

looking good...I am looking for a ISP change...i want to go fiber optic but for some reason my building is not included in the available area...even though i live 5 minutes from the financial district...bullshit

Google is planning to test ultra-high speed broadband networks in one or more trial locations across the country. its Google[I] Fiber[/I] internet service. That first trial in the Kansas city.

This needs to get itself into Canada. They could massively undercut the duopoly and still make a profit, and shake up the declining telecommunications too.
