Started to use Linux Mint. It is awesome. Found all my drivers and is super fast. Faster then when I had Windows 7 64 bit. Runs all my video games with WINE and tons of free software. Think I might stick with it for a bit. Just thought I would say I am a new fan boy.

Linux is Shweet!
Re: Linux is Shweet!
Welcome to the dark side :)
Re: Linux is Shweet!
Had some fun years with a Linux desktop, but win7 all the way now. Still have plenty of servers and VMs everywhere (gentoo, fedora and centos mostly) to play with though, and tempted to dual boot with OpenSUSE at work; KDE4 had lots of potential last time I checked.

Why did you choose Mint over Ubuntu? I made the switch to Ubuntu a few years ago because it's the "most popular" and expected if any would win me over, it would be Ubuntu. I'm curious to know why you picked Mint

I did some tests with the bootable disks before I chose Mint. With Ubuntu my wireless card was slower I noticed for some reason and Ubuntu had some freezes. When I tried Mint I didn't have those problems and IMO seemed a lot prettier/formal looking and less Macish then Ubuntu plus the startup menu was in the bottom left corner on Mint which I am used to since I usually use Windows it was easier to get used to. However, I think they are nearly the same pretty much, but Mint is green themed. The last reason I picked Mint was because the Ubuntu 64 bit version was smaller then the Mint 64 bit size which made me assume maybe there where a few more bells and whistles with Mint.
