Anyone picked up Dead Space 2 on PS3 yet?

Got it this week and it's a great addition to the original game. Definitely the scariest game franchise IMO. The graphics are amazing as usual. Multiplayer is also quite good.

Played the demo of Killzone 3 this morning also and was very impressed. Somehow they have made the graphics even bette (I don't know how they do it). Gonna grab it when it's out next week.

Loving the PS3 at the moment!

Re: Dead Space 2/Killzone 3

haven't got it yet .. i'm waiting for my friend to pass it over when he's done

just finished Castlevania last week and that was good .. much more satisfying and a much better game than God of War 3 imo .. i'm trying to finish Vanquish at the moment ... it's pretty much Gears of War on crack ... fun stuff

Re: Dead Space 2/Killzone 3

I just installed Dead Space the first, and I'm curious as to why there needs to be a giant character model taking up half the screen at all times. It's like all the worst bits of 1st and 3rd person views and you can't change any of it. Maybe I'll get used to it

^You get used to it.

The 1st game is good, although there are a lot of parts that are difficult e.g. you have to solve puzzls in the game that are not immediately clear.

4 am this morning agrees with you  Aside from the niggles it better than I expected. It looks lush and the gameplay is fun. Full of cliché (some of the story and mechanics are uncannily like Space Siege) but that's ok. Dead Space 2 will be going on the wishlist but it seems the PC port is a mediocre afterthought again.

Re: Dead Space 2/Killzone 3

Have you completed it? I found the end boss probably the hardest I've ever come across in a game, took me ages to do it! Great game overall though.

Re: Dead Space 2/Killzone 3

I would like to play both of them but have no time. All I have goes into proceeding with Fallout New Vegas and Gran Tourismo 5, both very time consuming games. I saw Killzone 3 on some gameplay videos already...it looks fgn amazing.

^ Know exactly what you mean mate about the time element. I'm studying on top of my day job and trying to have a social life too, but these games are just so good!

Also got Just Cause 2 on the go but it is massive so prob won't complete that any time soon.

Still got Batman 2 & LA Noir to come in 2011.........

Re: Dead Space 2/Killzone 3

Got a backlog of work that will keep me busy pretty much forever so have nowhere near the free time for games as in my student days. Not sure how some people manage to 100% every new release or spend 100 hours a week on WoW, my whole weekend was pretty much lost to Dead Space. Nearly finished, and it definitely exceeded my expectations, worth the time I spent on it anyway.

I guess the RSI is setting in too as my twitch hand that used to pown at the Quakes is pretty much useless now. I can get by pretty okay on Normal but am getting more tempted by 'Easy' modes so that I can enjoy the game without getting too frustrated all the time.

Re: Dead Space 2/Killzone 3

Completed Dead Space 2 just now. Brilliant game. There are 15 chapters so you really get your money's worth. Some bits are really difficult, others straight forward. Very enjoyable game.

Now onto Killzone 3 I think!
