It is the same with music and also why I only use iTunes to drop some mixes on my iPod because it is the only way possible to listen to music on it at all lol. They only provide your with the "Apple way" to organize it and after it's done with your collection, you cannot use it elsewhere anymore because it even renames your material and puts each mix or track in a single folder on your iPod...that's a tad too much of taking people by the hands for me.

There're other music managers to load music onto the iPods ... but not being able to organise your photos into folders is kinda silly ...if I'm travelling and snapping pics with the iPhone, everything is in one big messy album.

The iPhone 4 camera is actually not too bad. Absolutely fine for "happy snaps". But I agree, the restrictiveness of Apple products via iTunes is extremely frustrating.
Of course, you can buy another smartphone but Apple's OS and hardware is by far the most slick. Albeit with a few bugs.
