IBM's new Watson supercomputer has been fed with 10s of millions of documents and is using classification routines to answer Jeopardy style questions such as: “Classic candy bar that’s a female [URL="http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/s/supreme_court/index.html?inline=nyt-org"]Supreme Court[/URL] justice” — “What is Baby Ruth Ginsburg?”
This is pretty amazing. The IBM team I guess have agreed to have this computer play on TV here soon. Possibly even vs. Ken Jennings.
