Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Been using GoSms now for messaging, was using handcent but this is so much better. Quicker and not as clunky when scrolling through with a nicer looking interface and themes/skins to download.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Any new apps on the radar? I haven't gotten anything new in a while except for Weather HD and National Geographic Traveler which are both extremely pretty to look at.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
You're on the iPhone right? Since I've been on the Android for a while, I've gotten a bunch of apps.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
As far as games go, all i seem to play is the trial x series (motorbike trials), absolutely hooked. Available on Android and IOS i think.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
I've only recently gotten into IMO - messaging app for the iPhone and iPad, as it seems that I could never get notifications to work in Skype for the iPhone... so far so good.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
I read on one of the tech forums that Gen 5 of the ipod touch is due for a major release and upgrade and is likely to mimic the physical design of the iPhone 4. If that happens, you can bet your guns the iPhone 5 will be redesigned. Since both devices are identical (save for forced poorer specs to induce higher iPhone sales), they wont want the ipod touch feeding into iphone sales territory.
which means I see an ipod touch in my near future :p
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
i hear angry birds space is fun, i haven't tried it yet.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
(draw something | cut the rope) > angry birds space

I still use my 64GB 3rd Gen iTouch, specifically cause my edm collection is huge barely can hold on my 16gb iPhone 4. But I'm glad that I did not buy the 4th gen as tempted as I was at the time.

I'd be interested in knowing if its anything like the old school space invaders game.... I used to love that game.
I'd be interested in knowing if its anything like the old school space invaders game.... Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
cut the rope > angry birds. i really don't play any games on my phone much. i get bored with them quick.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Airdroid- Control your phone through your browser via your wireless network, send messages, transfer files view contacts etc, all free too.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Just discovered Noozy - Zune based Media player for the Android. I must admit, I am very impressed. The "Shuffle" feature is great, shows in tiny font the next 3 upcoming songs, auto-download album art and fills the screen's back drop as wallpaper, clean interface, media controls on the lock screen - just to name a few features. Give it a solid 9/10
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
This one is a must for all the old school RPG fans like myself - it's called Dragon Fantasy, and it's basically like having all the old Dragon Warrior/Final Fantasy games on your phone.
Spell Sword is also a good time for the hack 'n slash crowd.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Finally started using Waze.... seems pretty top notch atm.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Made a mistake with the app name, its Noozy not Moozy (corrected the post.)

Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
I am eagerly waiting for Angry Birds Star Wars.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Carmageddon released on ios and coming to android soon http://www.carmageddon.com/ Cant wait for this.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
My cloud player, sound cloud streamer. Much more efficient and better layout than official app (android).
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
I'd have to say my most used App - Google Play Newsstand. The smoothest app I've experienced so far in terms of layout, scrolling ease, and content.
There is so many sources out there both paid and free, which equates to endless reading (aka-Slate), but I did hate the process of being diverted to the play website when subscribing. Haven't really tried out the magazines yet, none that take my interest so far, but the reviews all remain positive so far,
Highly recommended and I am surprised so may people have never used/heard of this google app.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
For news I use Yahoo news, Umano, and Circa.
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Don't know if anyone mentioned this but my roomie recommended "Tango" app similar to Skype but apparently much better on 3G network
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Is there a way to measure how much data is being used by one particular app eg. Skype vs Tango?
Re: Favorite Android/iPhone Apps?
Waze. It's great for when I'm driving to a gig and and there is a lot of traffic. It gives alternate routes, tells when there are upcoming wrecks, or cops or basically anything you would want to know. Get it now!

I use neutron music player app on my iPhone. Plays everything and you have ftp support too, so that you can copy tracks over to your device and not have to rely on iTunes. It plays flac and everything else you can throw at it, and also gapless playback for MP3 works on both lame encoded albums as well as albums/mixes that have been encoded with iTunes and contain the iTunes gapless tag metadata. The stock iOS music player has bugs in it which causes random gaps/pauses between some transitions on albums. And also lame encoded MP3 albums don't play 100% perfectly smooth gapless playback, it's not very noticeable but it's there. Neutron fixes both of these issues and play all my MP3 mixes fine.
