Startup Auditor for android.

Spint navigation was always randomly starting and draining my battery. Now with this app, I can block programs from randomly starting up, or set certain conditions for which they are allowed to start. Nearly tripled my battery life.

I have yet to hear of an Android facebook app that doesn't absolutely suck, on any Android OS. Really embarrassingly bad, IMO. With more an more android apps coming out, I'm hoping it will encourage developers to get on the stick...

I really like Ringer Toggle Widget, makes it so fast to go from ringer/vibrate/silent. The widget is hideous but thats ok. I really like the game Bebbled.

^^still not out on the Hero as yet. The April 9 2.1 Update appears to be yet another rumor. Should have it soon, just not today...

Having a real hard time loading a 2.1 custom rom on my hero. Bloody firmware is too high. Haven't been able to downgrade it :(

I just found SwiFTP for Android thanks to Lifehacker. It turns your phone into a FTP server that you can upload files to/download files from a computer via FTP over your wireless network. And it's free!

Well there are lots of applications which are great and at the same time very useful for the ipone. Actually I really like the GPS service of that and the texi service. I really love to use that because it is very helpful in my work.

Finally got my Hero rooted with Villain Custom Rom 2.0 on there this morning... this thing is bloody fantastic :D

Was so sick of waiting for an update from HTC.. think that they have giving up on the hero...

Does the rom have a good battery life? I want to upgrade mine to the 2.1 update but want a vanilla rom because i dont really like the sense interface but cant decide which one to use and i dont want ot keep chopping and changing and having to restore all the apps and data all the time.

iPhone is more polished and has more apps (esp. games), where Android is more popular and everything is open. Android has free Internet tethering, so you can use the Internet on your laptop in the middle of a desert.

I don't think you'll regret either choice. It just boils down to do you trust Apple or Google more to deliver what you want most

I would say the battery life is pretty decent, haven't noticed any major difference than before.

Alchemy is addicting as hell! Awesome game.

Also check out Raging Thunder II for a great 3D racing game similar to Need For Speed/etc

Took the plunge and installed VanillaEclair5.0 from the xda boards, so much better than 1.5. Phone isnt clunky at all, loads faster and the interface looks loads better, defo worth doing.

Hate the stock android keyboard but couldn't get the htc one to work with all the apps so i have installed the swype one, this thing is great! Weird to get used to as you just drag your fingers over the letters rather than touch them but oce you get used to it and update the spellings it absolutely brilliant. Well recommended.

Just got Boxee installed on my HTPC and love the boxee app along with Air Mouse Pro, no need for mouse and keyboard. I'm all set and extremely happy :)

I'm juggling between the iphone / best android phone. so far, the iphone remains in the lead but I occasionally run into a nice demonstration video of an htc that makes me wanna grab it - the desire being one, but I do dig the evo 4g too

I'm thinking of getting rid of my blackberry soon, but I really really like blackberry messenger, it is the only reason to keep this thing around.

I want a sweet Android phone next. I want a real keyboard though, never going touchscreen only again. A friend got the Samsung Epic 4G on Sprint and it is sweet. The BS thing is that Sprint charges 10$ a month extra for 4G service and there is no 4G coverage in Indiana planned anytime.
