Features and initial thoughts for the phone are reported to be as follows:

It’s extremely thin It’s much nicer looking in person than in pictures There’s a 4 GB micro-SD card installed The battery capacity is 1400 mAh The screen appears to be OLED (same size/resolution as the Motorola Droid) 3G works on T-Mobile USA :) I can confirm that there’s no 3G on AT&T (EGDE only) It’s definitely unlocked It’s super snappy! Faster than the Droid… There’s no multitouch support in the browser or in Google Maps There’s no dedicated camera key, but it’s the same camera interface as the Droid The trackball can be used to focus (like on other HTC devices) Low-light performance is decent, but the flash is weak Calls are routed the normal way, not using data (VoIP), and sound fine The home screen is divided into 5 panes (like the Sense interface on the HTC Hero) It’s using a micro-USB connector for data/power There are some gold contacts at the bottom edge, for a dock perhaps? Did I mention it’s fast?

Re: Google Phone

How much is the phone?

I'm still loving the iphone... if this one is lighter than I may budge.

Re: Google Phone

No idea? Rumoured release date is Jan 5th so we'll find out soon.

Re: Google Phone

Lol, thought you had the phone.

Re: Google Phone

I wished! Still on the fence between the iPhone or a Google Phone but I'll probably lean towards the iPhone.

#1313306Post 6 of 46

Re: Google Phone

The iphone is really hard to beat... I'm surprised when people pick another phone that's in the same price range.

Re: Google Phone

looks pretty similar to my HTC Hero, actually (which stands to reason). Will be curious to see how it compares.

Exactly. I would love to have an iphone, but I refuse to have AT&T service.

- Price: $530 unsubsidized and unlocked (ouch!), $180 subsidized on the T-Mobile network with a 2 year contract. - Rate Plan: $79.99 per month on T-Mobile, which includes unlimited texting/MMS and web data, along with 500 minutes. This seems to be the only plan available, even if you’re already on another plan with T-Mobile - Purchasing: You can buy up to five Nexus One phones per Google account. - Cancellation: If you cancel within 120 days, you have to pay the subsidy difference ($350) or return the phone to Google.

Re: Google Phone

fuck t-mobile. Been a customer since 2004, and I'm just about done with them. I've loved my G1 since last year but I thinking of switching to Verizon (apparently they have a map for that). lol

I have read that I can use it on Tmobile but some features I have wont work with it...I think myfaves wont? Also it is upwards of $600 I think to buy it unlocked :(

#1316064Post 18 of 46

Re: Google Phone

600$ for a cellphone imo its alot of money, i rather spend that on another stuff. Also the networks here in Peru arent as good as they are in the US or Eur and its not worth having a piece of technology like that if its not going to work properly.

I would think first on a 3G Iphone or 3Gs instead of that.

Jesus this thing is really well loaded. Check the size and internal specs and it really blows your mind how they've managed to cram so much into something so little.
HTC has managed to get the thickness of the phone down to just 11.5mm, and it measures just 59.8mm and 119mm across and up and down -- kind of a feat when you consider the guts of this thing.

As you've heard, the Nexus One runs atop the much-hyped, rarely seen 1GHz Snapdragon CPU from Qualcomm (the same processor powering the HD2) -- really the highlight of this show. The phone also has 512MB of both RAM and ROM, but those hoping for new application storage options will find themselves out of luck yet again -- you're still limited to that small partition for app use. The display is an AMOLED, 480 x 800 capacitive touchscreen, and the handset also contains a light sensor, proximity sensor, and accelerometer, along with an HSPA-capable GSM radio (AWS and euro 2100MHz bands only for 3G -- sorry AT&T users), WiFi, the prerequisite AGPS chip, and a microSD slot (which comes loaded with a 4GB card, but is expandable to 32GB).
Including a 5 megapixel camera and flash

that's funny, where I live t-mobile is awful and at&t is one of the best as far as coverage at least.. I have at&t and would never switch to t-mobile

^yeah, isnt that shitty? phone contracts and all the lock in bs associated with it are shit. don't blame anyone who unlocks their phones or the groups online who find out how to do this.

myfaves will work also once you have the applications that unlocked the iphone. $600 is prob for the new 3gs. not the 3g. also you would need the older firmware to unlock. pm me if you have questions. don't want to go off track.

Re: Google Phone

I am still waiting for mine. Many issues with shipping. Tried picking mine up yesterday. Drove 2.5 hours to find out the Fedex employee I spoke to on the phone lied about the hours.
