Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

the upgrade from Leopard is $29.00. im using it and love it! all my apps are working fine... then again i dont use that many, lol.

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Well I guess because the apps that aren't working are the ones that hook into system behaviours like modifying how windows behave.

Stuff like Window Shade X, Sticky Windows, Xgestures.

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Try updating the Apps to the latest version, ive seen xGestures is on version 1.74, which one you got? Good luck on the other two tho :P

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Isn't a Snow Leopard just a slightly older version of a Cougar?

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Try enabling Rosetta to see if this allows cider to work

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Yeah I got seriously bored with my previous Leopard look so went nuts with this. They're from a few Somatic series and Amora series by David Lanham, a Patapon series by Talos Tsui, and Kaijubees. Stack drawers called Fill Me Up by Chris Carlozzi.

Yeah, check out Macthemes, Interfacelift, Iconfactory. There is also Magnifique which reskins the whole OS, but it doesn't support Snow Leopard at the moment.

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Just upgraded to 10.6.1 on both my imac and asus 1000he hackintosh. Everything ist running nice and smooth, you can really notice that 10.6 is a bit faster that 10.5 and on the 1000he the boot time increased significatly.

@ tiddles im playing deus ex using cider with SL no problem so maybe the problem isn´t cider compatibility just that not all programs are working

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

I've been running it since the day it was release.

I've always been a fan of Expose and the upgrade to it this round was huge imo.

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Upgrade like 20 days ago and I have a couple of problems with finder, also mail works like shit.

My advice will be ... if u use mac for fun, cause u like the apple, the upgrade now will be fine, but if u use it to work, dont do it until they release the 10.6.4.

They still need to fix compatibility stuff to run everything perfect, and there's many apps they need to set up to 64b

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Here is a list of incompatibilities http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/start

I haven´t looked really hard in to it but it looks like there´s a couple of ways get around some problems.

Hope this helps

=)

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Anyone know if you can turn off RSS Feeds in Safari 4? Since I updated to version 10.5.8 RSS Feeds seems to slow things down a bit when I'm on Mercury Server.

I think I found the solution, by using terminal:

defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSyndicationEnabled 0

Can anyone confirm that this turns RSS feeds off vs. just removing the RSS Feeds icon from the address bar?

#1280124Post 22 of 29

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Google says that should do it. Alternatively you can run Safari in Debug mode and turn off RSS from there. Can't you just delete the RSS feeds so Safari won't refresh them?

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

I've read reports that some Snow Leopard discs are fucked. Maybe see if the disc works on another Mac?

Re: So who's on Snow Leopard?

Some people used Disk Utility to restore the disc to a flash drive and install using the flash drive.
