Re: recommend a pen tablet

Can't speak to this one in particular, but I can tell you that when it comes to tablets, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't expect anything at this price point to be appropriate for much of anything other than dicking around or seeing if you like using a tablet. If you're doing it for something more serious, it probably isn't going to carry the day for you.

definitely more serious than dicking around. it's for the wife who does graphic design work on the side. thx for the tip. i'll dig deeper. hoping a graphic designer would see this and send a recommendation. maybe i'll pm dom or palmer.

Re: recommend a pen tablet

Jenks, take a look at the Wacom Intuos-4 tablets. I have a Intuos 3 and really like it, although I hardly use it due to lack of time. The Intuos-4 is a bit more expensive but like Toasty said you get what you pay for.

I personally found that unless you are doing really detailed stuff you dont need a large active area.

frank to the point you will kill yourself. too small.

honest joe yes, it will work. is the risk low, yes. 69 bucks. A big boy runs easily in the hundreds. benefits is control, for what it is worth you are buying this device to help and aid efficiency. if you can afford a larger one, go for it, if not this is not such a bad bargain to test the waters. but you will want bigger.

 I hope that helps.

I work with an intuos 3 and I love it, you can find them for a little cheaper now that there is an intuos 4, which look great by the way, and yes, working in a small space sucks, specially if you have a big monitor.
