Need to extract the audio from mp4 video to mp3. Can anyone recommend a program, preferably free, that can do the job? Mac preferred, but PC will work as well.

lulz , I missed the part where he said , FREE :p

anywaysss this is what you can do , download a program called "switch" , what ever movie you have in another format it will extract the whole audio from that movie or clip , into the format that you wish to have it on.

then if you want to cut a specific part of the whole audio you could use Itunes

I can't remember if its free, but I think Sorenson Squeeze can do the job. Its mainly a format converter, but I think it can extract as well. A lot of our broadcasters use it.
