I think this is more of a windows problem.

About two or three days ago. I downloaded all the new windows updates into my computer. Now I can't use Winamp, even though i upgraded to the new one. And now FF tends to crash every 15 minutes or so. And none of my Norton programs come up when I start the computer. Hell I can't even do the function f6 to turn down the brightness of my screen.

Does anyone know how to uninstall these freaking updates? So I might get my computer back to working semi normally.

And yes I do still have a win machine, it's primarily my internet comp now.

You could try system restore:

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System restore.

Just select the date before you installed the updates. It doesnt always work but has got me out of a muddle on a few occasions.

thanks. i actually tried that three times yesterday to no avail. I even went back over a month before i ever downloaded this stuff, but it wouldn't change anything for me.

shit. now i have tried to use norton go back too and that program sucks ass, it would only allow me to go back a day. And everytime I tried to use the system restore, it always says it wasn't able to restore my system to that point. Now I can't even use winamp as it keeps shutting down and my FF keeps shutting down what seems like every 20 minutes or so.

I'm giving serious thought to blasting this thing and re setting everything back to the beginning again.

Cant check while im at work but arent all the updates in the add/remove programs? There should be a list on the Microsoft website of the updates released for this month which you could then remove manually.

tried the delete updates. all it did was make things the same as they were before i deleted them from the control panel.

yesterday, I went and blaster the computer and set everything back to original out of box state. Luckily it didn't take me all that long to set everything back up to where I was at before.
