well thought issue was resolved but still having problems...

the downloads cut off b4 there completed. sometimes only get half of the file....

anybody ever have this problem?

no the internet connection is perfect. i never lose a signal. when i download a file instead of downloading the entire file only part of it will download. it will say download complete even though it only downloaded part of it.

alot of times i have to download a file 3 or 4 times b4 i am able to get the entire file.

sometimes it will only download a few seconds and then say file download complete.

you might have a virus on your computer bro. those things can cause your computer to do weird things like that, without messing with anything else.

It usually only happens to me when I try and download .wavs from beatport. If I download the .mp3 it's no problem.

It only happens when I try and download wav files from that site. I usually have to hook up my ethernet cable, directly to my computer and then it'll download the .wav no prob... ?

did an entire scan and absolutly no viruses found.....i guess i will have to call altell and see if they have had this problem b4.

it is pretty annoying though having to dl files 5 times to get the whole file.

I am still haveing the same issue. tried the wireless card on a different cpu and same problems..so its not the cpu

can u recommend a download manger that is free and works well....mabye that will do the trick.

Netants is called, i use it long time ago...not anymore. but that works for me in the time, also theres another one that is called download accelerator...

look for some of them on downloads.com and look for download managers

Maybe your ISP is cutting you off from downloading music? :D

Try to creat a new user account and see if that helps

Err so maybe it's the wireless card that's the problem? Or your wireless router?

If you use Firefox, try downthemall extension, it's a free download manager.

i guess there are others that use alltel wireless that are having the same problems....here is a post that someone wrote that is almost exactly the same symptoms that i am having.....

I'm experiencing an issue with downloading files; not necessarily all files, but those that are, say, 20mb or larger. The download will start normally, run a couple minutes, then just stop. It does not always happen at the same time - it may run 1 minute or 10 minutes, but most often happens around 2-3 minutes time. Sometimes I can resume the transfer and it will run another 2-3 minutes, sometimes it won't resume. It's almost as if I got disconnected for a split-second, but the line never drops during that time.

It is NOT the browser - I normally use Opera, but tried Firefox and IE with the same results. . I know they are messing with the Alltel/Verizon stuff - maybe some kind of download limit testing? Maybe tower resets, I don't know. The phone/modem doesn't reset, and when the download stops, I can still use internet with no problem, so it isn't going dormant. It seems to happen at most any time or day or night - there is no specific pattern I can find. Small files that can download in <2 minutes are never a problem; beyond that - good luck. It happens on downloads, video streams - anything that requires longer download times.

I'm no IT expert but am an electrician and my thoughts on wireless connections are to use them only if they are absolutely necessary. To my mind you are always introducing variable factors and potential for a loss of connectivity. hardwiring anything has to preferable if practicle - i'm not saying this is the answer to your trouble but my feelings generally about wireless anything - if there is anyway you can bypass your wireless and get a direct connection then try it - that way you may get 100% reliable downloading and know that your wireless connection isn't doing the business - if problem is same then back you go to the machine / drivers / settings etc to look for your problem

I was actually wrong with what I had posted. I had to go to the router's manufacturer website and DL a firmware upgrade, not drivers.
