Is there a gaming mini notebook?

Just wondering if any of you guys know if there is such thing as a mini gaming notebook. I have been deciding on getting a mini notebook for quite a while, but cant quite get myself to go through with it because I can't game on one. I have looked at the MSI wind, Asus EEE and Acer One but I was wondering if there is one with no integrated graphics card. I know if defeats the whole purpose, but it would be sweet.

Thanks

Re: Is there a gaming mini notebook?

From what Ive seen I would say no. Most of them barely even run windows.

I think they are mostly meant to do basic office apps, web browsing and email.

The main problem is the battery, they are trying to keep the battery small enough to be mini and yet have enough power to run a decent processor for an extended amount of time. Probably not much left for high demand video processing like games require. Maybe in the future if battery technology improves.

You might could find a decent 13 inch laptop to use for games.

So I found one http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/asus-n10jc.aspx . However, way to pricey for what you get. It's not really for gaming, but it could run World in Conflict and many other new games.

So I got a Asus eee 1000ha today in the mail. It is pretty kick ass for the price. Great for traveling and it has a 160 gb hard drive. I likes it alot.

Closest I've found are the Sony Vaios SZ series, and the new SR series. 13 inch screens, but the best graphics card they come with is a nvidia 9400.... ok for older games. Nice thing is the battery life and the weight... around 4 pounds (if you get the ones with the carbon fiber casing)

I have an SZ650, and I can play UT2004, and older games no problem.... no way it will be able to handle UT3 or Crysis.

I mainly play stuff like Fallout2 and Planescape Torment on the road anyway... and save the big gaming for the gaming beast at home... ;-)

Re: Is there a gaming mini notebook?

Just check for Alienware solutions. Expensive ones, but currently the best solution you can get according to your needs ;)
