Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

Thanks Huggie. I checked their site out and it seems you need to also install one of their tools to use the scenes they provide...too much hazzle. I also read something about subscribing to get rid of ads...don't want more spam but just wanna download a file in wmv format. Lazy and paranoid, I know. :p

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

at first i thought that too, but no you dong need anything of that, there are some that you need suscription but it will say "suscription plus" or something like that, where it says download click on it and it will send you to that page you are saying and there says on top "download freeafall.dream" or something like that, im at work, i will later put some screen shots to verify you doubt i installed like 5 and then the site ask me to suscribe to their website but nehhhhhhh... if you want i can upload them into sendspace....

#1166422Post 43 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

Yes plz upload them. All I got from that website where files without extensions...renamed them to .wmv but no go so I assumed you need their super tool to convert them.

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

JESUS MS is on a ROLLL!!!!!!!!

Build 7022, 7048, 7057 all out in a matter of week and build 7061 has already been leaked. They are DEFINITELY keeping the interest high and will ensure a massive launch for the OS

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

Just read they've released a RC that will be licensed for year -I'm thinking I'm going to give this one a try and see how things go...if it's really stable enough I'm also thinking of buying it when it's released.

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

i just installed the x64 version of it 7100 that i downloaded from microsoft but i just found a 7231 version, but its x86 version, should i put that insted?

#1232927Post 51 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

yes, 7100 was very buggy. Anything after 72XX is very stable and performs like a rock star.

#1232964Post 52 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

downloading....thanks are some of you are still using it? so far i havent had problems with it, it looks pretty sweet and the performance so far is good, going to try to install a few games, dawn of war 2 and prototype that i havent played yet..

and i say they should make that beta fish move....those win7 come with dreamscene? coz i havent see anything on the configuration.....

#1232972Post 53 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

I am using Win7 on all my PCs at home including my main media center PC. Have had some problems with earlier beta builds with the machine coming out of Sleep/Standby mode where the graphics driver would fail but they fixed it in build 7201. It works amazingly well for the most part.

#1233122Post 54 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

where did you get that version? coz i downloaded 7100 from microsoft... i found 7231 in a blog but they say something about its 7229 with the update of 7231 some weird stuff....so i prefer 7200 to no risk myself in download 3gb with some virus or and error or something.....

thats fucked up! :what i just downloaded 7100 from ms and thought nothing more of it since the earlier beta did the job for me. with that in mind this rc cant be worse in any way could it?

should i go for 72xx even without any notable problems with the beta?

#1233607Post 59 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

no the latest RC build is VERY stable. I have had zero issues with it so far and I'm probably going to hold out upgrading to any other builds until RTM is out. It was 7100 that I was having issues with.

i upgraded to 7100 and sure enough same thing happened to me. smart move to go ahead with that build when i had been warned..

im still pretty impressed of w7 since this is the first build that i actually have had some problems with. hard to believe it's running as smoothly as it is with only 1 gb ram!

#1233684Post 61 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

If you do go to any beta build that's 72XX (or higher), be sure to clean install it. For some reason, upgrading to a higher build doesn't clear out the bugs from older beta builds. It's so painless to install that it'd be a no-brainer anyways.

I really really REALLY dig Win7. Defo one of the best OS's yet.

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

sheesh MS is really taking win7 seriously. They've hit the RTM milestone already

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

Running build 7100 on my laptop here. Can't say I've noticed any problems. That said I'm not using it heavily. How do I upgrade it to a later build? Also hoping MS offer me a nice cheaper upgrade price from Vista. Got a full licence for the Home version that I never wanted on my laptop in the first place. So by the time SP1 comes out I'll probably all set to go. Plan to have a new system built with Core i9 and tri channel DDR3 with 12GB. (although the reality will probably be a Core i7 as i9 is bound to be rediculously expensive). Also hoping by then SSD will be at a decent price/performance ratio and I can RAID 0 a pair for my system drives.

#1238688Post 65 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

you need to download the version you want and install it or upgrade it without any lose of you currently files in use, leaving them intact or do a clean install(what i did) thats all, i have 7260 x86 and so far i havent had problems with it, i need to install more games and more aplications to see a difference or something...

12gb of ram ddr3 and i7 or i9? what the hell why you want that much powa? damn!

it looks cool, and you can download a program that enables dreamscene, what i did and also it removes the watermark of the windows version

#1238736Post 66 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

I'm currently getting the SoloR torrent - latest x64 build and gonna upgrade my laptop installation with that. As for the new system build, yes its gonna be fucking powerful but its still a little way off so plenty of time to change my mind. I went back to a single drive XP installation a couple of months back after so long on RAID 0 (one of the drives failed) and I'm hating it. So slow to start up and get programs running. So my next system I want everything available in memory or quickly accessible.

#1238754Post 67 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

in my case, the only reason for having that much memory would be for running heavy programs simultaneously with smooth precision, and serious gaming (diablo3 and starcraft2 are coming out soon!).

xp has served me well in the past, but i'm so done with that shit now. i'm looking into building a custom desktop hopefully within the next 5 yrs and running linux it, but i'm gonna stick with windows again... when i buy a new laptop at the end of this year for gaming/internet and mobile deejaying. thinking about grabbing one of these: http://www.alienware.com/products/notebook-computers.aspx

^ so powerful, and still cheaper than a mac.

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

getting disk on raid 0 is better? didnt knowabout it...i have 3 150gb 150gb 500gb

#1238815Post 69 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

^^
RAID 5 (striped disks with parity) combines three or more disks in a way that protects data against loss of any one disk; the storage capacity of the array is reduced by one disk.

RAID 0 (striped disks) distributes data across several disks in a way that gives improved speed and no lost capacity, but all data on all disks will be lost if any one disk fails. Although such an array has no actual redundancy, it is customary to call it RAID 0.
Doing a 150gb raid is not very smart imo. Id say go at least with 500 to 1tb+ HDs.

#1238931Post 70 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

so its better to buy 2 disk of 500gb and make them raid than buy a 1tb disc? but the risk is that if one fail i lose all my data on them? shite.... does it cost the risk? i mean how much performance would i get doing that?...my curiosity its to much hehe

how much does

#1239110Post 71 of 90

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

This is why I only use RAID 0 for my operating system and system files/programmes. Any critical data goes onto a seperate drive. Windows and all programmes are loaded up from the striped drives for speed. Everything else goes on a 500GB drive I have.

2 x 150GB would give you a 300GB system drive which would be more than plenty.

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

gonna try that as soon i get a new hard drive to store all my data on it, since the i have it partitioned one of them....

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

7264 leaked search it x86 and x64 versions.....

i jsut uninstalled windows 7 and tried windows xp 64, it takes less memory than windows 7 and i ust found a theme that looks like win7

win7 takes in my case aroud 1.6gb of ram and winxp64 only took 260mb and its faster...all my hardware is working with the proper drivers and all....but im going to try 7264 version to check it out, 64 version.... im just messin with OS also im very curious about ubuntu but i havent tried coz i read some programs arent compatible with it..... but have read good reviews about it....

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

I have one PC left at home. I've been running windows 7 on it for the last two months. I absolutely hate it. I'm going back to xp64 as I type this. It hasn't been stable in networking with my macs. I HATE the new file structuring. With the 'favorites' folder or whatever. I like to organize my shit in a certain way and with this I was unable to do so. I'm totally done with windows once this last machine dies. Such an utter piece of shit.

Re: Windows 7: Mojave My Ass

What do you guys recommend for a non-techy for upgrading? Should I wait for the first SP or upgrade immediately?

I'm using XP now and not looking forward to the upgrade process but feel its necessary at this point.
