FAO Mac users: Anyone wants 1password?

I found a mail in my junk folder from 1password saying I could've given away a free license as their Thanksgiving gift. Thanksgiving's over but the offer page is still up, I might still be able to give away a license, no guarantees.

If anyone wants it, just gimme your name and email, and we'll see if the offer still works.

I might be interested. How is it different from the built-in password support?

Re: FAO Mac users: Anyone wants 1password?

Hmm what kinda built-in password support are you referring to? 1password is basically a central storage for your passwords and any stuff you want to store securely, such as notes, credit card details. It has a password generator so if you're registering for a new site, or want to change existing passwords, it will generate strong ones. It has browser plugins so you can fill in your passwords without starting up the program. The only downside is, the passwords are stored locally, 1password is working on a way to make them accessible from other machines via some sort of syncing. However if portability is crucial, 1password lets you export an encrypted HTML file. Boy do I sound like a marketing machine.

Get more details here.

Was just referring to the fact that Safari/Firefox will save passwords for you. Thanks for the offer, but that sounds like overkill for my needs...

Yeah it probably is on the overkill side but I'm getting paranoid these day! :what
