ok, i have an alienware beastie. but its a little old (6 years)

comp is fine, runs fine, still has tons of HD left (over 70% total)

but the vid card is also 6-7 years old at this point and is starting to die out when i play games. it occasionally freezes here and there.

existing is nvidia

any suggestions. i just need something decent, nothing crazy, just to play some games like team fortress2 and WoW at decent settings.

if there is a sister component i may need, please advise. (like RAM or whatever)

Re: vid card suggestions please

^ ^ I just did a search on these online and found them going for around $90. What are the specs on that $300 model?

Re: vid card suggestions please

I just realized you're in a different country. My bad. That would explain the cost difference. I saw an ATI card with HDMI output (mid-level) on sale for $48 this weekend. I know people have their preferences but wow, those prices are insane.

Re: vid card suggestions please

^ ^ Ask the gamers on here. I don't game on my PC so I have no clue what you'd want. All I know is that you shouldn't have to spend over $100 for a kick ass card.

Re: vid card suggestions please

^^i think you need around $150 to get a decent one...Not a gamer my self...ok i do play occasionally :D but i run a gaming club and this card im using runs perfect on Wow ...most of the Gamers play Wow over here and they are happy...256 mb graphics will do the job for wow imo....id also reccomend you 2gb ram for running wow....

Re: vid card suggestions please

Thats just a unnecessary beast of a graphics card! I mean I have had this one with 4 gb of ram for a while now and I haven't had any games that I can't play the way they should be played...worst case scenario I'm just gonna get another one and run them in SLI mode...

Re: vid card suggestions please

what about 3 way sli mode ....i mean who on earth would put three hi end gpu's for games? its insane

Re: vid card suggestions please

I think we've forgotten the most important bit here. His system is some 6 years old so surely he has AGP and not PCI Express?

Re: vid card suggestions please

I believe that you are correct, Simon Belmont. Now go slay your zombies. :p Seriously, though, damn... upgrade to something that takes PCI-E.
