MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 15 inch wide screen 4 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM 320 GB Serial ATA @ 5400 SuperDrive 8x (DVD+RDL/DVD/+RW/CD-RW)

:D

This is my first mac, so i'm still getting a bit used to some of the interface 'quirks'. If anyone has any tips, they'd be appreciated (ie. how do i switch between two windows using the keys...in windows its ALT + TAB...)

Re: my new toy :)

cmd + tab = alt + tab :D

Re: my new toy :)

It's kinda irritating because cmd+tab only switches applications, not specific windows. I had to use Witch which enables alt-tab to switch windows. And unfortunately cmd+tab cannot be remapped, otherwise I'd use Witch and set cmd+tab to switch windows and get rid of the old cmd+tab which is useless to me.

Re: my new toy :)

F3 + arrows will let you navigate between all open windows

Re: my new toy :)

nice one Jeff, Kudos on making the transition. I hope to make mine some day. I just got my wife a Sony Vaio notebook (she saw mine and wanted one, plus her old notebook is on its last leg of survival).

64 Bit X 2 Core 3.4 GHZ, 4 gb RAM, Vista Premium, Crimson Red colored case.

nice! thats a badass machine as well (minus the vista, i suppose...)

i just couldn't resist the new macbook pro's...talk about minimal design. really love the fact that this thing will pretty much run every damn program i could think of without so much as lagging. ableton 7 runs like butter...

i'm getting logic pro as well, really looking forward to that after seeing my friend play around with it on his mac!

Now enjoy hacking the interface and all your app icons, system icons, dock, etc. Macthemes is great for that.

Re: my new toy :)

way to step the game up, macs are sic, i'm buying a pro soon as well. I dig my macbook core duo 2 13.5" though because its just a solid smaller laptop, very portable. I upped the ram recently myself, it was super easy.
welcome to the real world of computers ... where things just work.
You sound like those kids that listen to that bubblegum pop shit like panic at the disco or the killers or my chemical romance. Take off your sister's pants and realize that some people are smart enough to build a PC that has zero problems. No really. Take off those pants. They make your ass look HUGE. ;)
