Apologies if this is a repost.

I'm in the market for some speakers for my video iPod. Upper limit is £150 and I wouldnt mind if it had a CD player or radio on it.

Im interested in people who actually have decent speakers rather than being pointed in the direction of a site that has hundreds of them!

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

I got the Bose setup. Pretty solid sound, though I wish there was more bass. Good overall tones ... from highs to lows. I paid 299.99

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

I know you're looking for speakers but I just had to share that these are fucking BRILLIANT. Just heard them this past weekend at the bose store and it's one of the best headphones I've heard to date.

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

I had those for a while, they're extremely comfortable and it did sound better than I expected, given the kinda bad rep Bose has among 'audiophiles.'

NICE. But for that price I could get a nice set of M-audio BX-8's with 8 inch subs to get better low end...which is what EDM is in need of.

I have too been thinking of getting a pair of those Bose headsets. I had a guy I flew with one time who had a pair of the bigger second generation ones and i put them on and all I could hear was a low hum. But alas I COULD still hear the guy talking...But I do have really fucking good hearing.

"No highs, no lows, IT'S BOSE!"

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

naa jenks, you have to listen to that one, the bass was as tight as I like it and so were the highs. it completely drowned out the exterior noise AND they were comfy as shit. not to mention, these ones (I imagine they're a new design) look great.

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

Nice in ears pieces. But I bet they still fall out of the sweet spot in your ears where you get the best sounds. I really get frustrated by my regular phones they give to you. Time to upgrade.

Didn't get rid of them, they were on loan 'cos I reviewed them for Singapore's TimeOut. I was hoping they'd forget about it, because those headphones are great for office listening. The soft comfortable pads and just-nice grip really sold it for me.

Yeah the bass was surprisingly punchy and not boomy. The headphones really surprised me.

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

but at $179 a pair, don't think I'll be getting them anytime soon.

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

That's the problem I guess ... at that price, you can probably pick up something equally sweet if not better, that doesn't cost the Bose name.

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

I've heard loads about those shure headphones for $100, might be worth taking a look at them,

Re: iPod speakers recommendations......

Or Westone, or Ultimate Ears ... there are more options besides Shures, particularly if you want bass for EDM.
I've heard loads about those shure headphones for $100, might be worth taking a look at them,
Are you referring to the E2s? I think that was the model they had for $99. I read a lot of reviews that said to fork out the dough for the ones that went for $199 because of build quality for the E2s. I think the next ones were the E2Cs or something. Been a while since I read those as they've been out for a couple of years. Can't see myself spending that much on earbuds though to listen to that AM radio crispy sound of compressed audio. ;)
