Started playing last night, but so far so good. Like advertised, seems very early 90s street gang that makes you think of movies like Boyz n the hood. One character, Ryder, looks just like Eazy E. Saw a LL Cool J character too.

Graphics were horrible until I hooked up HD component cables, now seems playable.

Anyone else playing and/or have opinions?

I've got a buddy that picked it up yesterday... he called off work today. He's glued.

I've been playing since last wednesday... it's a pretty damn fun game. Just tons of stuff to do, and ways to customize C.J. The graphics aren't horrible.. they're on par for PS2.. and they sure look better than previous GTA's so I dunno what you're going on about. Of course it looks worse than Xbox or PC, but that's because the PS2 is based on 4 year old technology at least. People are so spoiled about graphics.. 6 years ago people would have been blown away by this s&*%.. and 6 years isn't anything when you think about how long the earth's been around :RockOn: , I've read too many haters posting crap about how they hate the game because the graphics suck. Games aren't about graphics at all.. that's only one aspect.. and a small one at that. Gameplay is the biggest factor and this game's got that in spades.

This whole week I'm working 14 hour days... Yesterday I was able to get off work from 5:30 to 6:30 to go get my preorder, but the line went around the building. I busted ass trying to get done early, and got out at 9:40. Called Gamestop but they'd already closed, even though they promised me earlier that they'd be open.

Woke up this morning at 11:00 (should have been at work at 8:00... oops :oops:). Called work, told them I'd be in at noon, and bought my copy of San Andreas. I'm still working a 10 hour shit today, so I won't get to play it for but an hour... but I'm sure I'll be in love with it.

Fuck the graphics, I think they look great from what I've seen on the net. I agree with Chonkey... GTA3 and GTAVC were good graphics, but nothing compared to the state-of-the-art doom3 graphics that nobody can even support.

and only the gameplay language is in french, AND subtitled at that, [b]ALL[/b]l menus are in english and the multiplayer voice is in english too... just the cutscenes and stuff in french, which you dont even really notice after a while

i played it for about & hour earlier as i just picked up my copy this afternoon.. was pretty impressed so far.. havent got to far, but im sure my available gaming time will get larger towards the weekend..

i also cant believe that they have so many cops riding around in the hood (the area you start the game in)..

The greatest thing about this game for me so far is the sheer size of San Andreas. It's HUGE! It dwarfs GTA III and Vice City combined. It's going to take me forever just to learn the city of Los Santos and it's about 1/8 of the entire map. Insane. I'm also digging the ability to swim.

i think it's great. nothing groundbreaking about it, but some great additions to the series.

once you play the getwaway on ps2, there was no going back to gta,it just looks and feels crap

My only complaint for the game so far:

YOU'RE FORCED TO USE ANALOG! I never use the analog stick on any of my games, ever. Now you are forced to, and the digital D-Pad has a totally different functionality (aside from actually moving). Other than that, judging from the 2 hours I got to play it last night I'd say it's a fucking sweet game.

I played the videogame in CJ's house for like 15 minutes... :oops:

In Vice City it was all about listening to the 80s station. Drive around pissing the police off listening to SHE'S ON FIRE haha

man i just spent 3 hrs on taxi missions.. got about 44k & 60 fares... after about 50, you get a surprise.. that is the best way to get to know the lay of the land is through taxi misssions.. i essentially had to stop cause i didnt eat for a while & eventually it will start eating at your muscle.. but your reflexes in the car start to suck when you are hungry.. slow start & such..

i just wish they had kept the up on r3 as gas from gta vc..

i keep up w/ videogames so much, and i just dont know at what point did videogames line themselves up w/ movies as far as M ratings = R ratings in what can be included. I can remember Mortal Kombat violence disputes that lasted forever. Then there was the BMX game w/ the boobies that wanted to be included that stirred up controversy, now GTA san andreas is motherF every other word and noone seems to care.

the shit has hit the fan. We can only hope all of our kids will be born deaf and blind.

I know a few friends that have kids that don't watch anything with swearing/violence on tv/games during the day because they don't want their kids watching it, and that's how it should be. One guy even bought GTA3 and VC, played it for about a week, then realized he had to sell em after his son asked what he was doing. It's sad, but as long as good parenting presides over the games there's nothing to worry about. Just play at night when they're at bed, or teach em quick like that chick that's letting her 18 month old smoke

Also, I just found one of the jet airplanes in the southeast corner of the airport... it's fucking sweeeeeet! flying to Vegas to do some gambling :P

EDIT - nevermind. I got shot out of the sky as soon as I left Los Santos airspace... then I bailed out from the top of the sky, and I splattered when I hit the ground. It's worth doing again.

Depending on your PC I would most definitely wait. I played the original GTA3 on my PC and then got the PS2 version of Vice City cause I didn't think it was going to come out.

I was hugely disappointment by the graphics. The PC was much better.

I'm going to be waiting this time around for the PC version. Plus hooking up your own sound track is ILL. Killing hookers with music of my choice blasting is a thing of beauty. :twisted:

the shirtless brother with tats (who rides with you during an early mission) is one funny fuck. flying the jet and gettin shot down was kinda cool. bmx bike was a nice addition. love how the cops don't interfere with a lotta gang shootouts. that's as far as i've played...looks good so far.

I completed 50 Taxi fares this weekend... that's a sweet bonus. I definitely recommend completing the 50 fares asap fellas
