just read that blizzard and paramount have begun the final scripting for a movie based in their world. nothign tied to games, just a movie.
but with a 100 million budget and thier graphic design skills,im wondering how sick the animation will be... unless it is a live action adaptation... which i think would cost more....
from all thier game cutscenes and intro videos...... i can think that one of the best computer animated films is gonna drop.

That seems like a low budget by today's standards for a film. Wasn't the cost for GD in Transformers something like 240 mil?

$100m is a relatively low budget for a CG movie.
Compare that to the budgets of other recent CG movies:
Ratatouille : $150m Shrek 3 : $160m Wall-E : $180m

My guess is that they will shop out a lot of the dirty work to Korea for a fraction of the price.

The CGI team at Blizzard are amazing. All their game trailers and intros are sick. A movie from those guys would be great.

Pixar is great for clean, cute, and easy to look at cgi for everyone. Blizz could make some sick D&D / fantasy type stuff if they were tasked which would be killer.

I think hatever 'cards' Blizzard Ent. will be dealt in regards to producing a film, they will make the best use of 'them'
I dunno though, will they go mainstream or make a cult classic, reminiscent of their older games?

Granted I wish they'd stick to one of the game lore story lines. I'd kill to see a movie based on the Diablo or Warcraft series.
