Re: Google Chrome
The thinking behind it is good so it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I think the beta is released tomorrow morning.
Google chrome

Goddamn this thing is fast, all it needs now is Adblock.
Re: Google chrome
yeah, pretty fast!
Re: Google Chrome
Considering the amount of data that google mines, one user put it rather interestingly (on cnet)

Re: Google Chrome
lol @ kamal.
so true though...
although this thing is so damn fast
Re: Google Chrome
anyone got a download link ?
EDIT: Never mind - http://gears.google.com/chrome/?hl=en
Re: Google Chrome
wow....this thing is simple and quick  Much faster then my Firefox/Minefield (then again I also have a lot of add-ons with it too)
They scale this thing into a Firefox-styled browser with add-ons and it stays this quick, I'm sold on it for at least my laptop :)
(or maybe FF can implement some of this open source code into FF 4?)

Re: Google Chrome
cheers for the link, confirm it works..... effin A this thinks is FAST
Re: Google Chrome
I'm having decent speeds but Opera seems to be faster for me.
Re: Google Chrome
i love it.
simple and FAST. just got it at work.
waiting for the mac version now :)
Re: Google Chrome
I'm liking it so far (it's fucking FAST!), but there's a couple of things I'm looking forward to them working into it. First, smooth scrolling. It feels like I'm still using Windows 98 because that was the last time I had choppy scrolling in a browser. Also, AdBlock Plus. I had no idea how much I loved that thing until I started going to a few sites (although they still load faster than FF :p)
Oh and give it to me on Mac, Google! If you get these 3 things in order, you have yourself a dedicated user of Chrome.
Re: Google Chrome
yea the only thing i dont like about it is the scrolling, but other than that its pretty sweet!
Re: Google Chrome
hmmmmmmmm
so could be worth giving this ago?
whats the security like on it?
Re: Google Chrome
i dont know if i want my top pages to be right on my homepage.........
Norml, 4chan, boysfood....
Re: Google Chrome
Interesting move for Google. The buzz last year was all about Web OS or moving away from the desktop to the internet with that cloud computing stuff, or bringing the internet to the desktop with Adobe AIR or MS Silverlight, and Google circumvented all that by creating a simple, no frills browser to hold everything, including your web surfing AND internet apps.
I think they're releasing Chrome to move into the mobile market rather than the desktop market. Firefox on its own is pretty no-frills, but I use FF because the extensions lets me customise features I need. I don't see Chrome replacing that.
But will definitely look into Chrome if I have an iPhone or for kiosk purposes.
Re: Google Chrome
they should have paul simon playing on this page. codachrooooooooooomnmmmmmeeee a misty night.............................
Re: Google Chrome
lovely fast! with the new tab you can see what your most views site tabs displaying..very 8) option
Re: Google Chrome
"A few hours after the launch of the Chrome public Beta, security researcher Aviv Raff found a hole in the new browser. The new found flaw targets an older version of the WebKit rendering engine. Apple’s latest Safari release uses a newer version of WebKit which is immune from this specific flaw, however Chrome does not."

Re: Google Chrome
The timing was right, i just uninstalled it last friday. I couldnt make myself enjoy Chrome not for a bit.
Weird, 'Mac' looking browser, with complicated layout, i didnt notice any speed limits broken, either, and some pages werent as practical (have to use mouse), if compared to FF.
i had that odd privilege to localize a part of it, so i had to install it, but few days later, it was already mentioned online.
Even my g/f didnt like it... hehe

Supposedly it was the template EULA that Google uses for all their apps, but then they realized their stupidity and changed it for Chrome. That doesn't justify them having such a fucked-up EULA for their other apps though. :what
Re: Google Chrome
MJ's all grown up! :p
Re: Google Chrome
are people still using this ? Have they really changed their EULA to reflect they wont mine the fuck out of every dirty secret you have ?
Google Browser
