Just picked up one of these bad boys on Thursday -- very much like an iPhone:

Absolutely loving it. Live TV, Proton Radio, all kinds of shit, streamed right to my phone. Only complaint so far is that I need to remember to lock the screen before putting it into my pocket -- placed quite a few random calls with my ass.

Only $129.99 to boot!

Re: Samsung Instinct

well when it comes to those phones. I think i'll just wait till the new iphone comes out in a few months, and then just get a cracked version so I can run it on my account.

No, Sprint, and yes it does have GPS/Nav. It also works similarly to XM/Sirius radio in that there are a ton of radio stations that beam directly to the phone. Live TV, on demand TV, movies, the whole 9.

Visual voicemail , full html browser, and push email a la Blackberry is also in there as well. Really a great gadget. I wish there was a place in the unit itself to store a stylus because it comes in pretty handy for web surfing, but that's a minor complaint compared to the wealth of features it offers.

Re: Samsung Instinct

sure sounds like a winner, how's sprint in your area? I'm an avid disliker of Sprint's service, both phone and customer.

also what are your plan rates ? was the phone with a 1 or 2 year contract?

I've heard not-so pleasant things about AT&T as well but I am considering the switch to them because of their awesome 3G network roll out (which is well in advance of T-Mo right now who've barely got 3G over voice out in NYC only).

Sprint is really good in STL and tends to be pretty good in most large cities. I've always thought it had the reputation as the best network in St. Louis, although I've also heard that Verizon might have very recently passed it (then again, Verizon doesn't work on the 3rd floor of our house, so there you go). Very solid, fast connection, provided I'm not in a rural network, where you're back on the slower network.

I'm on the $99.99 simply everything plan, which is really key. Comparable to other carriers. I'm currently locked in for 2 years.

Re: Samsung Instinct

Sprint has it's issues here but it is definitely better than AT&T. Over in my area, Verizon reigns supreme, followed closely by T-Mobile, than Sprint, and AT&T is somewhere in the toilet. There are other services but I haven't gotten any feedback from people on those.

Be careful with cracked iPhones. Apple is pretty serious about that shit, and will release updates from time to time that will invalidate a cracked phone. Unless you know how to crack them yourself, you could end up with a gadget that's worthless, with no way how to get it back where you want it (because Apple won't help you if it's been cracked).

Now that I've had this thing for a bit, I'm really just loving it. I feel like I discover something new on it every few hours. You can scroll through web pages by tilting it side to side, just stumbled upon that over lunch.
