They refused to fix mine even though they knew it was their fault. So, I went to Walmart and bought a brand new system - swapped out all the insides and put the broken one back inside the 'new' shell. Took that bad boy back to Walmart and got a refund.

MS still has warranties for RROD for another 2 years, i'd keep the dvd rom issue quiet and open the box, and unscrew a clamp alittle so it forces a RROD. ring up MS and sent it away
I had 2 die on me, they are all designed to fail. A ticking clock.

^ ^ Can I get more specifics on that one? I've got a DVD drive that won't spin anymore and the laser is constantly on; motor doesn't move.

Got mine back from MS within 2 weeks of posting it to them. Works fine now. Hopefully that is the problem gone!

I've been too lazy to go get a new one or have this one repaired but since I still have the hard drive and the system is functional, I can still download games from Live Arcade.
