If you'd settle for 22', buy.com current has them for $209. What is mbp?

Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
Hmm yeah I'm kinda deliberating between 22" and 24". 22" is suppose to be the sweet spot for your eyes to take everything in, but I'm thinking of springing for the 24" so I won't get the urge to upgrade in future.
Kamal are you familiar that that particular model? I've seen it mentioned on other boards. Can be gotten for around AUD$506-545.
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
if price is of lesser concern than quality, I'd go with Samsung for a desktop monitor. I've ready pretty solid reviews about them - especially this one

I've been wanting to get one of those for a damn long time but since I got a new laptop last summer, it's still on my pending list for when I build a small den for myself.
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
I tink 22" are about AUD300 these days, while a 24" can be gotten for as 'little' as AUD500 ... so I'm really not sure, would like to fuck it and go for it  Will have to check out these Samsungs in person, would be silly to get a 24" and I can't see the whole screen properly
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
oh, this thread is about monitors? nevermind
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
You don't want the 22" widescreen. 24" is the sweet spot without warping your view. Kamal's recommendation is great but you don't want it at that price. My brother got the 25.5" some months ago and his was only $409.
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
Ok, thanks beanz, will go with the 24" and shop around for prices later. Yeah Kamal's suggestion and maybe the entry level Dell 24", Dell screens seem to be popular in Asia/Australia.
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
What's it for...? If you doing graphics, you're not going to want a TN panel.
If you're basically going to be playing games and browsing the net, it doesn't really matter.
Here's a couple of great references:

I'm about to purchase a BenQ FP241VW. Sure the refresh rate isn't that great for gaming but from all the reviews I"ve been reading about, the color reproduction in incredible.
If you do decide to go with the Samsung 245BW it's only $399 at costco! Plus you can't beat their return policy

Hope this helps!
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
I have the Dell 2407WFP and have had it for over a year. It's the third revision, not a TN and the panel is made by Samsung. I don't know much about this year's model. Homeskillet is right but honestly, you would notice the difference on a TN panel. It's not much better than analog and that gets annoying quick.
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
Thanks guys, I've never owned an LCD screen before so your feedback is much appreciated, I'll take your words for it ;)
I don't game nor do graphics, so I thought maybe the entry level Dell or that budget Samsung will serve my surfing and porn needs.
Re: Thinking of getting a 24", any recommendations?
When you get a chance, hit up a store that has several models and then try to alter the settings so they are somewhat "similar" and then base your findings on that.
