Is there a way to get Mac folders to display mp3 files as windows does, i.e., where it includes the artist name, album name, track name, etc. as columns that can be sorted?
Thanks

Re: Mac Folder Views
how are you viewing them now on mac?
Re: Mac Folder Views
i know there is a way to view the extra info with the filenames. you right click on the desktop and choose folder options...it's in there.

right now, if I'm viewing them in the Finder, they show up just like any other file -- name, type, size, etc., but if I've got more than one artist or album in the same folder, it is tough to tell what goes with what without taking the extra step of getting info on the file.
It comes up when I've just downloaded a bunch of different stuff and I want to organize it in the Finder before I import it into iTunes. As it stands right now, I flip over to windows and organize it into folders that way, but I know there's got to be a better way.
I know iTunes will do it for me, but I store my music on an external drive to save hard disk space, so I point iTunes to my music rather than moving everything into the iTunes folder.

tried that and came up snake eyes. It's gotta be in there somewhere -- will keep digging, I suppose...
