i'm sick of this fucking browser. it crashes at any murphy's law point. ie the worst time ever (you know, really long post that you've craftily drafted and it shuts down right as you're about to hit submit?) Anyways, i'm sick of this microsoft nonsense, and was curious if anyone could recommend another browser that'll work fine with vista. because clearly this one isn't...

thanks in advance....

Re: Internet Explorer

toasty: but does firefox work decent with vista? I've known about firefox (and opera) for some time now...but have heard in mutiple places that it doesn't 'work well with vista'. I could be wrong, but i can't get a definitive answer. If you know anything more than this, let me know. I'll keep hunting for something more clear myself and post it upon finding it. (if i can)

Re: Internet Explorer

Works fine on my Vista box and has been since day one. I think maybe those individuals who have FF on Vista and are having problems could be having those problems because of add-ons, not because of FF itself.

As far as I'm aware, the issues people have with FF & Vista has to do with the RSS feeds setup in FF not loading into the RSS sidebar, as MS insists that its sidebar be used only for IE RSS content. I don't really use that gadget much anyway, so it isn't a big deal for me. I've had no problems with browsing/page display whatsoever.

Give it a try and see how it works for you. Safari is another great option, but I only use it on my Mac, have no clue how it plays with Vista...

Re: Internet Explorer

For RSS feeds I use RSSOwl, I don't load any RSS feeds into FF. Oh and it's free too :)

Re: Internet Explorer

Opera Firefox Maxthon K-Meleon Safari Mozilla My Wife's Cunt

All of those are other alternatives to IE. Google is your friend.

Re: Internet Explorer

yeah. i feel ya. I"ve never used firefox, but even with Opera, i had much more flexibility than IE. Why am I using it? simply cause i don't want my computer to fvck up. Sad how, out of fear, I'm using microsoft-endorsed products. Ah well.

I'm gonna give firefox a try.

I don't even use RSS feeds, and haven't figure out how to work with them on IE anyways, so it's not much a deal for me.

thanks for the input fellas
