at CircuitCity.com

I'm "partially" in the market to buy a big screen TV and this is a heck of a steal right now...

Sony 60" rear projection full HD LCD TV. Bravia Engine™ EX 120 HZ Refresh Rate 3 HDMI Inputs 1080p resolution

$1899 + an additional $100 off using coupon code Z7A4KKQA45 during checkout

DAYAM  $1799 for a 60" TV

I think Sony is going to manufacture flat panels exclusively now, so they're probably looking to move existing inventory. Whale of a deal if hanging it on the wall isn't a necessity.

Yeah, sony is stopping production of all rear projection tv's.

I just bought myself one of these:

For $3200!! The picture is absolutely incredible... may not be as good as the pioneer Kuro but the Kuro costs twice as much!!

I couldn't justify spending that much more on a tv.

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

That model was being clearanced out last year for $1100. Good ol' Circuit City trying to overcharge on shit once again.

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

So I took the plunge on this TV in time for the sweet deal they had running i.e. no payments + no interest for 18 months

I checked out their website today and seems the TV is gone.... glad I bought it yesterday.

The only reason I took the plunge into this TV is because of the price/size combination. I'd be gutted if Sony suddenly starts throwing out 60" LCDs that drop to the vicinity of this TV in price...

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

for starts, it wont fit in my apartment and me and the mrs. have been trying to figure out how to make it work

not to mention the old tube 30" tv is going to be a nightmare to reposition elsewhere in the apartment....

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

I've got a Mitsu 57" DLP and that thing BARELY fit standing up in the back of our Expedition when we picked it up. We made it work though. We had to pack that and the tv stand into the back. Good thing we didn't grab the 65".

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

^^ yea I'm gonna have to rent a pickup and drive to get the TV. For a 60" TV, its only 90 lbs which is a pleasant surprise.

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

That's typically what they weigh. Our 57" weighs in at 88 lbs. and the 65" was only a few more.

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

so I got the TV hooked up to my PC using a DVi - HDMi cable but for the life of me I cannot get the display on the screen. Using a standard VGA cable and setting the resolution at 1920 x 1084 works ok.

Anyone know why the HiDef signal wont come on using the cable ?

I do get display when the computer boots up and shows the hardware info but as soon as Vista is about to load, the boot procedure ends and screen goes blank.

busted my head over this issue but unable to resolve it. sony support was as helpful as telling me "use vga" and google didnt yield anything either. :(

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

seems the problem is RAMPANT with nvidia driviers for vista and HiDef signal devices, which not only affects TVs but also a ton of Monitors connecting to PCs via HDMI cables.

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

If you can't wait, set up a PS3 and drool.

Re: One hell of a fucking steal....

so I finally got the PC to work, I ended up googling endlessly and found tons of threads that seem to point to something called EDID.

Long story short, I have to jump through a hoop while bootup, but at least I got the HDMI cable to display on the screen..... and the image quality is BREATHTAKING
