here is the jist: http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49981

long story short... i have the Sasha & Digweed MTV2 NYE 2002 Broadcast on VHS

this has really nice pre-delta heavy visuals on it.

I tried taking this up to a copy place and they said they could not do this because it is a TV broadcast due to copyright laws.

SO... is there a reasonably cheap way to accomplish this?

if not, does anyone on here have or know someone with the electronics/software to accomplish this? i would be willing to send the VHS to you as long as i get it back along with a dvd copy of this..

thanks.

Re: VHS to DVD... Help!

^^ thanks kinky..

but as i said before.. i only have one vhs i want to convert and i cannot justify spending $100 on a capture device for a single 2-hour video

which is why i was wondering if anyone on here had this hardware already and would be willing to do the job for me =p

Re: VHS to DVD... Help!

i've got that video too. Only thing is the friend that originally recorded it for me did it on a cheap mono vcr. and now the audio quality isn't all that great. If I had a good copy in Stereo I'd do it for ya.

Re: VHS to DVD... Help!

I've got the hardware and software for it but it's still boxed up. It's from Adaptec and I got it a couple of years ago when they had their inventory prices slashed because they had redone the packaging so I got this $100 MSRP stuff for like $19. I got it with the intention to convert home movies to DVD/HDD backup, etc. I'd be willing to do it for you but I still need to hook up the VCR to my pc and learn the software. The only hiccup would be that I'm gone from home at least five days a week because of work so that may delay this. I should get right on it because I've got an out-of-print Underworld video that I've been wanting to put on DVD for a very, very long time. Anyone have any knowledge of what kind of graphics card I may need in order to somehow make the conversion to 1080i?
