So not only does my Laptop automatically upgrade to SP1 (yea it tells me its available) but now I see this

Why the fuck install it if its not released. And how the fuck will it affect me if I have to uninstall and re-install the good version. This is getting better by the minute

Re: Beaner you using SP1 on Vista ?

You shouldn't have any problems when you remove it. If you do you can always do a system restore. Unless of course you turned that off?

Re: Beaner you using SP1 on Vista ?

no it did set a restore point, I guess I'll just wait until the new version of SP1 is officially released before I do the restore

Hmm. I'm running a version I found many months ago. Guess we'll see what's to happen. In any case, thanks for this thread. It reminded me to download some "security" updates for my system that I forgot about.

Re: Beaner you using SP1 on Vista ?

I know restore point eats up hard drive space but it has saved me a few times when I do something stupid. I R stupid sometimes

I just image my drive every so often and slap that on external storage. Haven't had to restore an image in years though. (Knocks on my cock)

As cheap as external hard drives are now I think I will go this way. What software are you using to make the backups?

Re: Beaner you using SP1 on Vista ?

I've been using Norton Ghost and have been for at least 8 - 9 years now. It's simple and doesn't take that long to initiate. I'm sure there are plenty of others out there but I'm the kind of guy that sticks with something if it keeps doing it's job for me.
