Wireless keeps disconnecting

Just got my PC set back up (woohoo! All my music is back!). However the wireless adpator keeps disconnecting off the network. Its not the signal strength as my laptop is connecting just fine and doesn't drop. If I ask it to reconnect it does so.

Bit baffling.

Using an Asus P5W DH Deluxe mobo btw.

any sort of wireless security enabled? I used to have that problem when I had an open network, but as soon as I protected it, it became much, much stable...

Its built onboard the motherboard. It is on an open network. I might go about making it secure before the rest of the housemates come back. That'll confuse them. :lol: It seems to be working at the moment, but now and then will drop. Which is well annoying when downloading things. The laptop doesn't do this.

Its gone back into dropping the line every 20 seconds... despite the fact my laptop is working 100% in the same position. Hmmmm.

Have you tried adding an adapter for comparison? Maybe the onboard Wireless port has compatibility issues with your router.

Nope. However, I've updated the drivers and suddenly everything seems good. Even the signal strength is better.

try changing the wireless channel to 8 or 9. It could be interference where its seated

Well since the driver update it hasn't once dropped. Speeds are faster too. Must have been a dodgy driver.
