i'm getting the 8330 World edition for work here shortly...can't wait. Re: New Balckberry toy

I just got my 8700c up and running yesterday, it may be older but I like the way it feels. I only wish we had better data plans in Canada.

Re: New Balckberry toy

I'm waiting to get the new Curve with WiFi and 2 MP Camera. I know it's a work machine but its nice to able to take quick photos ever so often. I couldn't live without my BB though, fucking love it. Got a free 8700G when I signed up for a new plan this year.

Re: New Balckberry toy

I have the curve and quite like it. I should break mine so that work gets me the new one with wifi and gps, teehee.

Re: New Balckberry toy

i have the 8830 and i got my wife the pearl... the pearl looks like a girly phone to me....

#953068Post 12 of 38

Re: New Balckberry toy

^ ^ It is. That's why it's more prone to breaking. Made for delicate users.

#953143Post 13 of 38

Re: New Balckberry toy

Yeah. So... like day two my wheel is already feeling like it's failing. Think I might take this bitch back.

#953151Post 14 of 38

Re: New Balckberry toy

^ ^ Definitely take it back. I can almost guarantee you that they've heard it before. Those are the two things that really bug people about the Pearl. That wheel and the rollerball start to fail if you're a regular user.

#953423Post 15 of 38

Re: New Balckberry toy

^^ totally disagree. had my 8800 since Feb and would consider myself a heavy user (roughly 40 -60 emails/day) and not a single problem. sell blackberries all day long and the most common problem with them is that most people don't understand how to use them. in 5 years of dealing with cell phones, blackberries are by far the most dependable and least apt to break or wear down.

Cost is a big reason. For 50 bucks and no contract it was a win-win for me. The iPhone is not at the business level, and frankly it is still a very lucrative toy. There a few things that I do not like about the iPhone, one of them is no mms feature. You can send it via email only. Also there is no video, which to some is kinda pointless, but when you have child and you can capture that timeless moment, well it is worth it. It is also slow ... 2.5 G is the dump. 3G version will be a lot faster. No flash. I am graphic hustler and 1/2 the sites I visit use have flash. I do not like the loading of web pages. It actually drives fucking nuts. It blocks it and redraws it. Well it is a phone Dom .. what do you expect? For $400 I expect functionality and flawless design. Neither have been met by my high standards.

That is in a nutshell.

That phone isn't that fat. Still not as wide as the palm of your hand.

#962252Post 35 of 38

Re: New Balckberry toy

^^^half of the palm of your hand to be precise.

#962440Post 36 of 38

Re: New Balckberry toy

that is one hell of a deal Kamal. A phone like that for less than a dollar...but you need to make absolutely sure you keep up your payments, or you will get charged. I don't like thos smaller versions of the pda phones. I would rather have the full keyboard on mine.

But I still really don't need anything other than my samgsung phone with a fairly nice camera in it...i used to be against all these camera phones but it's nice to be able to immediately....well not immediately snap pics of something/someone.

Fuck.

Unfortunately I'm indebted to verizon for life basically. I'm onto an 8703 now. The trackball on that pearl was a piece of shit.
The trackball on that pearl was a piece of shit.
I was commenting on that earlier. I know lots of people that have gone through at least four of those Pearls each.
