Re: stupid question

already tried that. doesn't work. after i click ok from chossing all file types, it goes right back to what it was. i looked on vlc to see if there is a setting to disable it as default but to no avail. been to the video lan website and didn't have time to read through everything and checked winsoft's website, but got the info that i had already tried. will prolly uninstall vlc and see if i over looked something in the install.

Re: stupid question

open any window (not browser), click

Tools >> Folder Options >> File Types Tab

Scroll down to choose the file(s) you want to change associations of (MP3 in this case), select it by single clicking on the file type, Click "Change" in the window below and then choose the program you want to associate it with.

The other option is to just uninstall / re-install Winamp and select it to be the media play for mp3s only.

Re: stupid question

^ appreciate all the help. considering that i have a few gigs worth of music, rather than changing each file, i just reinstalled winamp and set as default. much quicker and frankly my dumb ass should have thought of it before i even posted

thanks tho
