I think your statement is kinda wrong my friend. Torrent sites whose registration is always open are those that are not trusted in terms of viruses and full of user spamming (eg. torrentspy). Bitsoup throughout banning such users and closing the registrations for a while, at least manages to limit such situations.

thats what i meant ... the better torrent sites are those that need sign up cos they owner of the sites maintains it with torrents of 'proper scene releases' which doesn't have virus/trojans unlike sites like piratebay/mininova/torrentspy where they could be uploaded by anyone and a good lot of the files do contain trojans/viruses

I was really sorry to hear (or discover not expecting it, unfortunately) about this. The OiNK fiasco is taking its toll on those who are now petrified of being held liable for the activities of their users and site content. I don't want to see the "torrent culture" dissolve into the pathetc wretch that the almighty Napster became after tis heyday.

The dumbest thing is that OiNK's chief operator has long since been released and had his equipment returned to him, but its prohibited from recreating the site. That's hardly something to shut down a still-functinoing site for. I read an article that The Pirate Bay is creaitng an OiNK off-spin, BOiNK, but really depends on the contributions of former OiNK users to get it off of its feet in terms of volume of content.
