even "Real Player's" new media player (version 8 iirc) will let you save videos.

Right now is the firefox add-on Amazing Media Browser perfect tool for this.

Even for sites which require you to install quicktime player for browser, with 2 clicks saves a video to your HD. [URL]https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1468[/URL]

firefox has an add on called Download Helper that will allow you to download anything...almost, to your hard drive. I have gotten tons of good videos from youtube and other places with it.
